I thought I'd take a group photo while Ron (p38arover) & Peter (mechanic2you) were hard at work today. We had 4 P38s in a group yesterday while doing Ron's tank swap but there was 6 today as I dragged down the parts car as a floor section needed to be cut out. Peter's tank went in today.
5 in this shot but Peter's car looks good on the ramps so it's here (Ron's is the white P38A):

6 here after Mrs Scouse came home from shopping:

And my thanks go to Scouse once again. Without his help (actually doing most of the work on mine), I doubt we'd have got both done.
However, we are now well versed in exactly where to cut the P38A floor to give access to the fuel pump. Mine was the experimental one so it's not quite as neat as Pete's. With Peter's, we knew exactly where to cut from measurements taken from my less than perfect job. Mine took a few experimental holes to find the right spot and was done with the tank in situ. It needs a bit of trimming which I'll do this week.
What we also found was that Pete's 2002 car has much thicker sound deadening in the rear than my 1995 mode thus requiring a much different approach to cutting the hole through the carpet and sound deadening. I'll get some pics next weekend.
The donor car will provide a section of floor to use as a cover over the cut out floor.

Melbourne, so nowhere near you guys. Just joking. Looks like a very productive way of doing the work.

Pete (left) and Scouse working on fitting the pump to the Thor tank. Both the tank and the pump needed a bit of modification.
