My D4 started playing its radio (AM or FM, I don't know which) directly after shutting the top tail-gate after it was opened for a minute or so 3/4 of an hour after 3 hour drive home today. The radio turned off after a few seconds then had another short play as soon as the tailgate was closed. A 2nd opening of the upper tail-gate started the radio again for a few more seconds, then started again after the tail-gate was again closed. Opening the left rear door started the music for a few seconds but subsequent door and tail-gate opening and closing didn't induce the radio to start again.
The radio is never used, only the CD player.

My tailgate switch failed on the morning I took my car in to fix the restricted performance problem. No prior failures whatsoever but there was no way that the tailgate was going to open! They fixed it with a new switch but the auto elec could not get it to open either so I don't know how they managed to fix it.
Maybe something is going on with your tailgate switch as well.
Just waiting for a new inlet manifold now and we should be on our way again.

Thought you might find this informative. See the 3rd post - youtube clip.

Could be a loose speaker wire in the rear or even in the unit itself, the jolt of closing or opening the door gives a short.

Have you tried just banging the radio or the speaker to see if you get the same result.

Opening the driver's door started the radio for a few seconds this morning too. I turned on the CD for a short while whilst driving to see if that stops it otherwise I'll disconnect the battery for a few seconds to cause a bcu restart to see it that stops the music. It not a vibration triggering the radio - it has to be the bcu upon receiving a door-open signal. I may have hit the radio button yesterday instead of the phone button immediately below it.

Time for a hard reset to see if it bypasses the issue.

The musical doors have stopped since selecting the CD player so at this time disconnecting the battery is not required.
