Locked rear doors - side

Hi guys - wondering if anyone has ever had issue of both rear doors not unlocking with key or fob or knob inside? after drowning becm this occured and now i have replaced becm only font doors work with both fob & key.
I believe both rear doors operate directly from becm but have individual plugs, and seeing as i've replaced becm am wondering what else could be common link to both doors. Its almost as though they are both superlocked!!

HI

They do indeed operate from the BECM, it may be worth double checking the connectors on the BECM to make sure there is no corrosion.

I can't think why they won't unlock with the knob inside, from memory that is a direct physical connection to the lock

Did you have the child locks on, that might stop the buttons working?

Hi Steve tried that without success. As I now dont have any back seats in I am planning on removing door card from inside tomorrow and swapping out door outstation to see if that changes anything otherwise will see if I can unlock from inside door & try replacing door lock/central locking mechanism etc from spare car.

It might be that the door locks decided to give up at the same time or got a bit of water in them when you went for a swim

Thing is only rh side door would have been deep enough to have been affected ( that is outstation ) by water. It sounds & feels like they are both in superlock mode but wont release from that, just wondering if some wd40 sprayed into lock area may even assist! Anything worth a try.

Well in the end I decided to take door cards off - not having back seats in there certainly made that easier, actually it wasnt that hard at all.
once they were off I peeled back the foam liner to see the lock and associated wiring. Before doing my own ones I experimented with the spare rangie, I tried applying 12v to various wires until I worked out which ones activated the lock, once I had sussed out which wires I traced them back to plugs at becm to double check which wires at which plugs. I then applied 12v to same wires on the Fantom but without success. So next step was to remove my door cards & try wires as they exited the lock, again no luck so it looks like lock blown. only option left was to remove back off lock whilst inside door, this was actually quite easy and enabled me to get inside lock to release - finally success! with lock motor out I discovered a burnt out armature which was holding lock in superlock mode preventing the door from being unlocked from inside the vehicle. once dorr was opened first thing I check was that child lock was in fact not activated and it wasnt.
I not sure yet wether to swap locks out for the ones in spare as I like the idea of no possibility of being locked in the vehicle if battery goes flat or something else goes haywire so for now I will lock rear doors manually.
As it turned out other side door had very same problem. So somehow when BECM got drowned it caused both rear locks to burn out and activated superlock ( what a handy feature ).

An old conversation, but I have had the identical problem for over 5 years. Rear door won't open from inside. I had replaced both actuators. Child locks are off. I've even removed the actuators and used a circuit diagram to work out which pins to apply 12V across. Both normal lock and superlock motors turn, but still the interior door handles don't work. Any thoughts before I pull the actuators apart?

Mine happened after BECM got wet so thats why both ( I Think! ) prior to that they worked fine. But sounds like that may not be your cause, wonder if there is faulty relay inside your BECM maybe you could test if voltage is being sent! Strange though that they they work when you apply voltage yet you cannot operate with door handles. Sounds like someone needs to open up a lock and view while applying voltage to see how they operate,
maybe theres a simple answer/fix. I dont have time right now or thats what i would be trying.
