1st Observations (38kms)
- As Jimr1 has said, "heater works really well , It gets very hot "
- Driving out of the dealers, noticed it dont turn to much  - But I remember how it used to be. :) - Its still the same
- I put indicator on, and people stay away! :D
- Need to get used to the manual
- Its very tall, my mum wont be able to get in without a push :o
- It sounds great
- Ergonomics good. - The seats suit me (partial leather)
- Driving over kerbs is not noticeable
- Every now and then (2x) you hear something in the back of the car going "bang, ching, ka-chunk" - Dont know what it is!!!!! - Sounded like a stick, or something the tyre was picking up. I swear there were no dogs around
Happy me.

Looks fantastic. Getting your new Defender is very exciting. By the way the noise may just be stones etc flicking up. There is quite a lot of advice on how to minimise it on the forum. If it is that I put in some camping foam matting on the floor areas, got some rhino liner sprayed underneath and did some rust proofing (this was surprisingly effective for me).
It was enough to keep the wife happy!

Congratulations , What a beauty , I'm sure once you get used to driving It , and every thing beds in your going to get a lot of pleasure from your new 110 . I'm not sure what you like to run your tyres pressures at ? I found mine on the high side , It is noticeable when empty . I thought mine danced about a bit . I let them down a noticed an improvement . Once again Congratulations !!.. Jim ..:)

Congrats on the new purchase:D
Laughed when I read about the turning circle or lack there of.
I liken it swing a boat around, eventually we get there:)
I used to get that rock pinging sound too, a set of draws soon masked it.
If your looking for a drive Sunday come join the fun at the Steam Park.(link in my signature).

Latest observation.
Drive to work (Melbourne CBD) - no expletives please.
Where can you park?
All the places I use to park are only 2.1m at max. The Defender manual says 2.182!
So, Im thinking of ideas. Fat bloke or chick in the back, full tank, tyres lower pressure.
Scary. Hitting a sprinkler head is rumoured to cost $2000 per fire brigade truck, not to mention damage to LR

With my 2015 110 I can just squeeze into 2.1m. It is tight. I can't imagine yours is too different. every new park I go into is a scary moment but you get used to it.

Which Dealer supplied your vehicle?
Well done, Pickles.

There's an open air car park in Docklands that I sometimes use. It's on Docklands Drive and at $11 a day is one of the cheapest options in town. Throw in the free trams now to the CBD and you're on Bourke St in 10mins.
I don't trust those car park height signs at all ...

Thanks. Yeah I bought it from NSW, Coffs Harbour and had it trucked down.
$600 for the freight charge, but was offset by dealer dropping a grand off.
Good experience.

Update.
Doesnt take long before you realise you want to spend money to make it the way you want.
WAS looking at LED headlights, - the std ones are atm good enough, so Ive put the leds on hold pending other priorities.
High on the list is a towbar, its being fitted on Wed.
Bullbar next, then "cough" "splutter" daytime running lights.
DRL's, I was a non believer, until I used them. They are high on the priority.
Girlfriend whinges because there is no grab rail above passenger window.
Most important to make a dignified entry into the vehicle. thats next. I dont want no more whinging GF. Strange how the rear passengers get a roof grab rail, but not the front passenger?
My mum cant get in cause its too tall, (and the GF whinge again), that I need to get side steps/ rails etc. Have to work that one out!
Trying to work out a good way of mounting a tablet on the dash.
I want something removable, but also something that looks good.
Last but not least, something to put in the inner guards to stop all the stones and sticks and dead cats making noise when the tyres pick them up. Rhino guard or something like that.
Thats my update and thoughts.

Not sure if this will work for you, but I have a Ram mount for my ipad that clamps on the passenger grab handle. It can be removed without leaving a mark and is rock solid. Can be adjusted for passenger use, drivers use or removed (leaving the small clamp on the grab handle) in a few seconds. It comprises of four parts,
1- RAM-B-202
2- RAM-B-108BU
3- RAM-B-201-C
4- RAM-HOL-AP8U (this is for the ipad)

Hi Karlz,
regarding the parking in Melb CBD, I have found two options I use:
1. Southern Cross Station - fits no worries, but no roofrack.
2. Federation Square - fits easy, and can go in with the FrontRunner rack on. It does bump the height warning bar at the entrance, however there are no clearance issues on the first two floors that I have found.
And congrats on the machine !
cheers,
Wayne

Hi Karlz, Great looking Defender. As for height my brochure states 2021 to 2182 mm. I measured my 110 over a thule roof bar at the back & it is 2160 - may have settled a little in the 340,000 kms or so! So suggest you take a measurement> I did because my garage door is only 2250 mm & it just scrapes in with the rack on, just have to remember not to have anything on the rack.:(

Another trick is to check out the car park entrances on Google Earth before you go. You should find clearances posted above them.
Cheers Billy.

Towbar on yesterday, Hayman reese.
Landrover quoted $1300.
Used instead www.tossa.com.au which were $790
They come to your house and install. It took them about 2 hours.
The bloke doing it was awesome. Bloody impressed. Recommended.
