Hi Guys,

D4 2012 I'm thinking tie rod end, or what is the other common part that needs replacement?

when slow speed, round a bouts, driveway etc when turning left or right the front of the car is creaking on each side.

I would assume based on the age and k's of the car it would have to be warranty under the schedule of 'applied waarnty' hence part has not been fit for purpose based on age, condition, k's etc?

cheers
JB

Yes, most like the rack end. They seem to fail on the ball joint that connects to the rack rather than the ball joint on the tie rod end. Although it could be that too. Or the ball joints on the lower control arms. Or lower control arm bushes.

As for applied warranty I'm not sure. The front end on the D3/D4 is just fragile and should be more or less considered a consumable item. We replace something on ours every second service.

warranty issues aside, from memory its the control arms that go regulary?

has anyone replaced these themselves, or have an approx cost. I remember this coming up a few times in past posts, yet cannot find.

Cheers
