The recent cold snap has killed my battery. It is extremely sluggish to start in the morning. I checked terminals. Charges okay throughout the day but has barely enough juice in the morning. What batteries does anyone recommend? Unfortunately this will exclude me from the Nanocom group buy that ends this week. Too many bills at the moment.

I got a Bosch 12 months ago and it's good.

The OEM battery is a Varta which most people get a good run out of.

The retail alternatives are:
Varta G14 (AGM)
or
Varta H3 (lead acid)

My V8 D3 came with a crook battery from the previous owner. I looked at local options, LR dealer as well as online.

I Chose a Century DIN75L MF, sourced from a local auto parts store. It arrived in 3 days for around $300. I did look to fit a longer DIN85L MF in, which was higher capacity, cheaper and available immediately but it was more work than I wanted to do at the time.

Almost all of my research recomended the Varta or Land Rover OEM option, but the retailers I contacted weren't prepared to freight to my area at any price. My battery's 4 months old now and my charge monitoring indicates everything functions as It should. 0degC starts no problem, I'm happy.

Best of luck

I'm on my 4th main battery, 1 standard factory 1 Supercharge 1 standard factory, this time I was recommended the Duracell.
It's been great so far.
Good specs and decent price, manufactured in the US.
