I've been offered one in good running condition (in my own state) whole from the clutch forwads for $700, is this a bit too much on the expensive side?

Anyone know of any alternatives?

I know I can get an engine from brisbane to here for about $250+ GST cleaned and empty of fluid, so from anywhere closer has to be cheaper.

On the flipside, what is the holden worth if I sell it?

$50 for the conversion plate and engine mounts.

$200 for a good Holden inline six depending on condition. See some go for $100 others for more than $300. Market determines price I guess what someone is prepared to offer you.

Thanks jay, can't chase the engine for a while, but it's nice to know what I should be able to get back from the engine I have style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

holden engined landrovers are getting very hard to insure.

late model series iii's are fine, most 2a and all series 2 and 1 are nigh on impossible to get std comprehensive insurance on at a resonable rate when they dont have a rover engine in them.

you are way better off sticking to a rover engine.

I've got a holden, and know all about insurance problems, another reason why I'm keen to change the engine to a rover engine of one variety or another.

Last count, the only people I could find to insure me were justcars, and that was $450 a year for 3rd party property, my subaru used to be about $100 for the same from a regular company 8O

Yes let's not go there about insurance as they already love mine (not !) and with a few more tweaks to the little steam engine out front they gonna love it even more.

Think I'll be ringing Shannons shortly.
