Brother in law has a 3.5 flapper. We had a look today and when I pull the maf connection of it seems to run better. Going to check timing etc tomorrow. Also it is running rich.

Any ideas where to start

Also check the coolant temp sensor for the efi.

Cool will do that also. How do you check it as in tell if it is playing up or dead

Check resistance at sensor terminals, with engine hot should be around 300 ohms from memory.

Put new sensor in plus other parts like spark plugs etc. now starter has **** its self. Just clicks. Got a spare and same thing.

There is a diagnosis guide for both the flapper and 14CUX EFI systems on another LR forum somewhere, but can't recall it of the top of my head...

I'll go and try and find it...

Ok thanks I need it for both. If you can find it it would be a massive help. Also is that power tune book good.

Got it running and timed. Now issue is when driving it cuts down at 2500 rpm like it doesn't want to rev. What could this be the ecu?

got it running and timed up and was running ok but lacked power so we swapped the dizzy out for another rangie thats works and fixed it. now the issue is it has a slight missed or irregular idle if you know what i mean and when driving has a little cough here and there but not major just noticeable

any ideas
