auto dilemma

when on a fairly steep incline, my auto disco tends to roll back when i take off.. this is a little different from the auto in my paj which tends to hold better on inclines


does anyone have similar experiences? or is this typical of the zf box?

Sounds like your torque converter is slipping a bit too much. Mine slips a bit but not too bad, but on a steep incline they will always slip as you know that the auto is not directly driven like a manual/clutch set-up there will always be some slip.

If it concerns you, have the auto serviced. Could be money well spent, better than a $3K rebuild if left 8O
