Anyone know a good place in Brisbane?
I'll need some thicker cable for dual battery and winch.
Thinner cabling for Land Rover and motorcycle use, in various colours.
Heat shrink (I gather Jaycar sells this but none nearby. Do altronics do that sort of stuff?

Not sure about places in brisbane, but I have had good success shopping at welding / electrical suppliers. They should sell anything upwards of 16mm2 cable, generally in orange or black.
Cetnaj / L&H / electrical suppliers also have a good range of the heavier stuff, and fittings to suit. Also good cheap source of bulk / mixed packs of heat shrink (horrensously expensive if you buy small lengths at jaycar etc.
Keep an eye out for the actual mm2 conductor size, not the 'automotive' OD size... as this is useless and has no reference to the ability of it to carry the sort of current you need for a winch / battery setup.

hiyo, for cut lengths from huge battery cable down to multiple colours and trace cable, even ignition cable, give Hamilton Auto Electrics a go down at Eagle Farm, used to carry HEAPS of all the old school stuff, otherwise you can buy full rolls from Ashdown-Ingrams at Virginia, twist their arm for a decent price :)
Altronics and Jaycar do some but it's not the best for enduring quality.
ps. my first post, hello to all and hope this helps !
