Hi, has any one had any issues where the brakes are sticking on ever so slightly.
I can not feel it while driving, nor is is enough that you notice while stopping or any thing, but all 4 brakes are getting very hot. I noticed this a couple of weeks back, as I smelt them when I got out the car, and then on closer inspection, burnt my finger as I poked the disc through the wheel.
I haven't striped any thing down yet, my thoughts are that it is not sticky calipers, as it's all 4, and I have had one of them off recently and freed it up and re-greased it when I put it back. ( done this when I replaced a driveshaft - not a brake problem ) so I am thinking that some how, pressure from the abs pump is feeding through. ????
I haven't looked into it yet, just after some ideas, I am not familiar with how this system works compared to a normal car with a booster.
Any thoughts please.
Cheers Simon

Hi

They have a habit of sticking on the guide pins, which need to be lubricated

All 4 calipers all started sticking at same time.
I'll have a look when I get my car back.
Getting some sliders made atm, but taking a lot longer than I had hoped.
Thanks.

If it were only the front two it would make sense that the non-return valve next to the isolating valve isn't bleeding of the braking pressure.

I would have though any leak on the power circuit side would eventually lock the brakes up.

I would check the guide pins first, they can stick if not lubricated. It would only take one pin on each wheel to stick to cause issues.
How long since the brakes have had a proper bleed?
It's a very long process on the P38, but doable!
You do need to follow the rave manual withouit skipping any steps.
If they have not been properly bled for a long time, brake fluid has a habit of absorbing moisture over time, which tends to collect at the lowest point, being the caliper pistons.
This can cause rust on the metal surface of the pistons and can lead to sticking.
