Has anyone had any experience replacing the standard fuel tank ina Defender with one of larger capacity? I'm interested in aspects such as effect on ground clearance, fuel gauge accuracy etc..
Cheers,

Be careful about a bigger tank if you have stabliser bars fitted. A bigger tank won't fit unless you remover the stableiser bars.

I have seen a defender 130 with the anti-sway bar mounts extended, boxed out. My fathers has had this done on his 95 Disco to.

I have a "140L" LRA tank fitted. If I was doing it again I would get the 130L model as it doesn't reduce clearance as much. Having said that I haven't managed to ding it yet.
The fuel guage only works until there is about 30L left in the tank, you then have to rely on your trip meter.

Frenchie is there no alternate sender set up rthat can be used to make the fuel guage accurate aghain ?
ARB lits several options for after market tanks - to suit both sway bar and non-sway bar Defenders. Not cheap though....
