Hi All,
Not sure where to post this so general chat it is....

Looking at buying a c1600 truck with a tipper tray for my property, its a pretty rough old beast, fair ammount of rust in the cab and in need of a new fuel pump, also the brakes are not working(i can see leaking wheel cyclinders) but apparently all working other then that.

What would be a fair price to pay for something like this? how hard is it to find parts for?

For me it wont see the road unless i decide to restore it some time down the track, but for now i would be getting it running and using it carting dirt/rocks/wood around my property.

Thanks

Mick.

No idea of value but here is one with a water tank fitted for $2K http://www.trucksales.com.au/~1980 International C1600 (http://www.trucksales.com.au/buy/private/SSE-AD-3272197/1980-International-C1600)

Here is a very tidy tipper for $9K http://www.trucksales.com.au/~1970 International c1600 (http://www.trucksales.com.au/buy/private/SSE-AD-3075206/1970-International-c1600)

Not sure if that helps......

2WD or 4WD?

Are the cabs the same as Aussie-built Dodges of the same era?

Yes. With different trimmings and fitout. (Guess where IH got their cabs from!)

Just got given a 1980 model, 98000 k's, tip truck and also is 4X4, ex Perth fire truck.
Will pick it up next month when I get back from Mongolia.
This truck has a petrol V8 and has not been started for around 5 years, has leaking rear wheel cylinders and the right hand bonnet hinge is us.
It too will be used on my farm.

Parts won't be a problem. Join the inter and dodge blog groups and you will find them just as obsessed with their trucks as we are with Land Rovers. There are parts galore and advice at every corner for them. They were a great old truck
