TOP show.
Watched the 1st episode last night, and if that is anything to go on, the Series should be a ripper.
Amongst other cars, there were a few Mustangs, a M.B.300SL Gullwing, & a current AMG SLS, all sensibly discussed in layman's terms.
Loved it, Pickles.

Yeah, it was good. Really enjoyed it. Intelligent, funny, beautifully filmed - well done! Definitely recording it next Friday.

I enjoyed it, especially the old Ford Escort ads, PC they were not!:D That Ferrari was rather nice but a little over the top at 7.5 million GBP's:D

I've watched all 13 episodes - there is a Classic Range Rover in one of the episodes. I quite liked the series - some very nice looking cars...

I think that it's new to Australia.

But it has been online since March from memory... :)

Continuing to record and enjoy this show. Had some cool ex-military Land Rovers on in the last episode. And the beautiful E Type Jag.

I've recorded them. I tried to watch the first episode but the presenters annoyed me that much, I won't bother with the rest.

I like the show ..... It would be way better if they didn't bother with any presenters. I'd rather clarkson acting like a knob head that listen to people that are full of themselves.

The show itself and the photography is excellent.

It's on tonight. Come in Jodie.
They did a great piece on the E Type Jaguar last week.

Tonight's episode.

Series celebrating classic cars presented by Quentin Willson and Jodie Kidd. Quentin looks at the success story that is the Range Rover, before he and Jodie head to Monaco for the Grand Prix Historique weekend. Alex Riley checks out an affordable second-hand Porsche and former Formula 1 star Bruno Senna hits the test track in a 1965 Mustang.

Watched that last night ----- Tops, Wifey & I enjoyed it immensely.
Wifey reckons that Quentin is a cross between Mr Bean & Jack Nicholson!

I enjoyed the Range Rover segment, beat that Lexus thingy everywhere it went. The rest of the show was also good especially the old formula one classics around Monaco.

Jeez, How good is this show?
I love my cars,...ALL cars.
I've seen most of the tV "car Shows", some good, some bad, and for some really good "light hearted" car "entertainment", this show takes some beating.
Tonight's episode featured some cars (V8s!!), close to my heart, The Jensen Interceptor, featuring the mighty 7.3L SP, & Jodie did a beautiful segment on Camaro, featuring a pristine classic Z28 which she drove down Route 66.
Love it, Pickles.

I haven't watched it since 'How Britain worked' started on 7two. I can't say I've really missed it.

I was keen to see it the other night. Watched about 10 minutes before I got sick of the presenters. The videography looked a lot like top gear (which I really like) and I was looking forward to a more informative and factual show than top gear, but the the presenters spoke and it sounded scripted and forced and that was it for me. I know top gear was scripted but they rarely sounded like bored robots.

After people's enthusiasm in this thread I might give it another go tho

Cheers

Dan

I also found the presenters' style particularly irritating.

I had to force myself to look beyond their mannerisms and their delivery and was rewarded with some quite interesting information about some very special cars.

I have accepted that listening to the presenters is just the price I have to pay if I want to learn something about some classic cars.

My father appears to have the same mindset VNX, it doesn't stop him declaring his disgust for the presenters :D
I liked the episode on the Range Rover, however comparing a RRC to the equivalent of a Lexus rav 4 is a bit of a long bow...

Well, I used to enjoy TopGear, especially Clarkeson,....& I still enjoy him,....there is no-one else like him. However, the TopGear show itself has lost me, it is a shadow of its former self sinse it was removed from SBS,.now it's "lengthened" to 33% more than its original duration,.....with ads, & some of the "stunts" that the boys get up to, leave me a bit cold.
So, "The Classic Car Show". Yes, it is a bit "orchestrated", but I believe the presenters know that, they know they're a bit "corny", but I'm sure they do have a laugh at themselves (how silly were we?!!),....but that's all part of it,...it is a bit corny, a bit quirky, but Quentin REALLY does know his classic cars, & Jodie's pretty easy on the eye,...so all is good, for me anyway.
