Hi Guys,
I am getting closer to finishing the rest of my 2A Truck cab and have started looking at Seat Belts.
I spoke to a guy at Vanquip today and he said it has to be steel to steel all the way to meet the ADR's and code and it will need an Engineers's signoff.
This means mounting the stalks to the seat box will not be on unless there is some way to get it down the the chassis. He also expressed doubt that the upper mount and the bracket at the base of the seat box would be OK unless the brackets were certified by someone.
Has anyone had any recent experience registering a Series 2 or 2A with new seat belts?
Thanks
Russ

Will it go through rego without seatbelts and then later refit?

Mine have a metal lower mount to the door frame, the upper mount to the bottom of the rear window panel and the clip to the aluminium panel behind the seat box.

There have been a thread or two on this recently (possibly under Series 3).

Should not need engineering I would think if you use original parts (including those from Series 3). Although the shoulder mount seems to be non-existent except second hand. The inboard mounts typically bolt through to a steel strap onto the chassis bracket intended for the station wagon floor from memory.

Hi guys, hope this helps,
I recently got hold of an old s3 truck cab lower panel and on it were steel seatbelt attatchment plates for the centre lap belt and drivers and passengers seatbelt stalks, which I will be bolting to my 2a rear tub as my seatbelts are just bolted through the aluminiun panels with a washer to stop them pulling through. Not very good I thought, so yes will def be transferring those brackets over just for safetys sake. I dont need to have seatbelts but will fit them properly. Just thought id try give some help if ur trying to fit belts using original parts. The plates look to be a straight bolt in fit. There was/is a thread on fitting brackets to the actual cab itself on here as JDNSW said, relating to the shoulder mountings.

Cheers Rod
