Hi, any one know where to buy new leather seat trims?

Exmoor Trim in the UK, they're the original makers. They sell all trim parts, and apparently include fitting instructions as well.

In my experience it will be wise to find out the shipping costs before you pay
Often more than the cost of the seat parts
Just my 10c worth....

Exmoor lists BMI (lrparts.com.au) as a distributor of their products. Could be worth an email.

HI

I had a quote from a local auto upholsterer to replace a couple of the panels in the seat base and they quoted about $250.00

I have decided to treat the seat with leather conditioner so it doesn't deteriorate any further, then spend the money on fitted sheepskin seat covers.

$250 is good. I just got quoted over $800, as they said they've got to buy a minimum amount of leather, then at least 4 hrs of labour. $800 as a minimum.

It makes it look expensive when one can buy a pair of black leather bucket seats for just over 700 bucks

Adventurer 4x4 4WD Bucket Seat Pair 2 X Black Leather ADR Approved Landcruiser | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Adventurer-4x4-4WD-Bucket-Seat-Pair-2-x-Black-Leather-ADR-Approved-Landcruiser-/171882195547?hash=item2804fa2a5b)

No listing for P38 or P38A on their website (apart from floor mats and seat belt extender). :(

Can you buy a breakers yard passenger seat and use it in the drivers position?

Yes, options are very expensive.
The passenger side will have the arm rest on the wrong side.
I will probably just put some cheap seat covers on for now and keep my eye open for a cheap 2nd hand one.
I couldn't get any where with finding a new cover, I chased up a couple of leads, but they all turned round and said they can't help.

The same wear issue occurs in countries where they drive on the wrong side of the road, maybe there is someone willing to remove a cover off one of a car tthat is being wrecked?

That's a good idea :)

The entire seat base does not weigh a heap and it is not hard to remove !

I've heard the bases can be switched from left to right. Or the leather

It looks very plausible I may have a go at swapping the passengers side tomorrow

I'll let you know how it goes

Did the seat base swap yesterday and it took about 4 hours all up, works the way we thought it should !
