Hi All,

Went to refuel yesterday and it took half a dozen goes to get the flap that covers the fuel cap to open (MY13 D4). Anybody experienced that before?

I re-locked the car to see if it just had glitched but that didn't make any difference. WD 40 hasn't helped either.

Cheers.

Have a read of this thread, has a few good tips:

I had success with a few sprays of a circuit board cleaner when mine got sticky with Cape York dust and it's been good since then. I used this because I was worried about damage to the releasing switch but it sounds like silicon spray is just fine.

But if yours is not excessively dirty/dusty there may be another issue.

Thanks mate,

I'll see if I can find one of the products and give that a whirl.

I was a bit concerned about squirting anything in there, not knowing the set-up internally.

But sounds like it should be OK.

Cheers.

I found Repco had a couple of good products, one for auto electrical cleaning and one specifically for cleaning MAF sensors. Plus silicon sprays etc.
