Reparable write off from WA, 2008 130 with 36K on it when it rear-ended a coaster bus. From discussion with the driver the bus was stationary and the 130 was traveling at 80k, fog apparently.

This project was a bit different from restoring S1, But let's be honest the construction method from 1948 to 2008 hasn't changed much. Metric rather than BSF, few more rivet nuts, plastic and rubber and some changes in electrics.
The chassis was bent behind the cabin and front damage, plus the panel damage in the photos.
New chassis, bonnet, second hand right wing and glass nose bit with grill.
Total Budget $21000 including purchase price and freight from WA. Labour not included as that is what I do.
This is the finished job registered in Vic and on budget even after the VAS, VIN and Roadworthy costs.

If anyone is interested I will post more detail and some of the hundred or so photos that where proof of repair method

I will post a few before and after shots trying not to bore anyone to much.
My first move was to sell of the very nice and expensive Boston canopy, as the tray length was way too long and it would have been a crime to cut the canopy plus it was a very good earner recovering all most half the original purchase price.

Next move was to start the long and pointless discussions with Vic roads.
Then when totally confused I order a new chassis from a friendly Land Rover dealer this was supplied with the original Vin stamped, this seemed to confuse Vic roads no end but is the only way they would supply it.
Below is the striped old Chassis and the new.

Running gear refitted to new chassis with new mounts.

A second hand right wing and new bonnet purchase and refinished, left wing repaired and refinished.

That's looking great. It's awesome you were able to re over some money with the sale of the canopy. Thanks for the pics I am watching this thread with both eyes open.
