Just read this. Has anyone had contact with LRA about it?
"Land Rover has issued a significant recall to Discovery 3s, Discovery 4s and Range Rover Sports due to a problem with the detachable tow bar."
Faulty Tow Bars Mean Major Land Rover Recall | LRO.com UK (http://www.lro.com/news/land-rover/1509/faulty-tow-bars-mean-major-land-rover-recall/)
There's no info on the recalls website.

Being a UK article, it is possible there is no recall here in Australia.
Mine was serviced only a couple of weeks ago with no mention of it...

Isn't the Australian one different?

Will be interesting to hear more on this. The way the UK tow bar connects and locks into the chassis looks to be the same as what we get. Following the Disco3 UK forum the tow hitch has been known to fail and fall out when under load.

There has been a couple of failures here, two were members of this sight, one had the chain securing rings fail as well.

It may take a while before LRA act though.
