Hi all wondering if anyone has one of these they would be willing to part with. Off a Series 3 fuel tank.

If the fuel tank is 45lts (11 gallons) the same part from a Series 2/2A is the same, I'm unsure about the similarities between 11 Gallon tanks and the 16 Gallon tanks as fitted to Series 3 LWB (military), I have the type for the Series 2A minus the gauze filter on the end, cheers Dennis

I think 16 gallon it is for a fuel return from the 300 tdi. I did have it returning to the fuel filter but wondering whether it was causing too much pressure build up as I had a fuel pump leak and don't want it to happen again. Expensive exercise

Hi Matt,

If all you are doing is bringing fuel back to the tank you just need a right angle pipe fitting that you thread into the top of the tank. I put one in the plate that is the top of the fuel gauge sender so that I wasn't drilling holes in a petrol tank that still had fuel in it. As far as I know there is no need to take the fuel to the bottom of the tank. Should be able to find these at REPCO, Autobahn, Supercheap etc.

Cheers,

Tim.

Hi Matt,

No photo of the actual installation but this is the kind of thing I mean 1/2" Thread x 3/10" Hose Barb Brass Right Angle Elbow Barbed Coupling Connector: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41uRs0PPZHL.@@AMEPARAM@@41uRs0PPZHL

Just have to get the right size to suit the fuel line you have.

Tim.
