Hi James, I am, and it has left East London due into Port Elizabeth today. My 90 Heritage is also travelling within it. Southern tell me mine should arrive in their workshop on 16th Oct in a dirty as received state - I will be there to meet him.

Refloated today & towed off for repairs. Seams to have leaked worse than all of my Land Rovers together!

Fremantle port data say it's due at 4am. I told him I'd pick him at at 3 and we'd head down to the mole to see the boat to in. He wasn't keen. Sheesh! If you don't have the passion, stick to Prados I told him.

Oh and did you get a build date by any chance? His was 21st August.

This was a note I received back in early August: "I have the build lock scheduled for the 17th of July (Friday), with the factory closing for 3 weeks from the 20th you are correct in assuming that the build is likely to commence around the 10th or 11th of August."

I doubt I will be able to make the arrival, as I'm pretty sure that is the day we fly out to KL.

Asian King must have run into a headwind, as it is now arriving a day late into Reunion Island, now 28/9. Still showing 6th Oct as Freo arrival.

It looks as though there are three ships currently bringing Defenders, incl. Heritage and Adventure, to Australia. I have found the FindShip website much better for updating positions. Asian King has departed Reunion and heading for Fremantle. Faust has departed Port Elizabeth, heading for East London today, then Durban. Hoegh Target is about to arrive in Port Elizabeth.

Is a ten hour "position update" normal?

mind you,, the site I used before is still showing info from the 28th:D

is 15knots full speed?

If you are like me and using the free service, you only get land-based position reports, so I think you will not hear again from Asian King until it is very close to Fremantle. If you use a paid app, you get GPS position reports. It looks to me as if 15 knots is about full speed.

I agree Tony. My vessel finder free site still shows the vessel in Le Port on Reunion. The vin # tracking through the shipping owner Wallenius Willhelmsen shows it departed Reunion on the 28/9 arriving Freo on 7/10. So probably due at the dealer now on 16/10. I believe 15 to 18 knots we be about max of this type of vessel. Windage alone must be a problem - a bit like driving a Defender into a headwind.

Asian King has missed its booking for tomorrow. Salome heading from Melbourne is at berth 12NQ tomorrow. Asian King will have to wait in Gage Roads. My poor mate will be devoed. He goes away on business for two weeks on Thursday and was hoping for a glimpse on the dock before he went. It'll probably be ready for collection before he gets back. I might go down to Barbagallo's to take a pic of it when it arrives. You can bet they will have it on the showroom floor.

That's a shame, as we are off to KL for a wedding tomorrow night & will be back on the 15th. Southern had advised that mine would be arriving in the showroom on the 16th so maybe delayed. At least we will be back to meet him in his dirty sea sick recovering condition.

Didn't make it to the harbour ourselves but looks like the Asian King arrived safely:

We're dropping our 90 off for its first service on the 19th so we may take a peak. :p
