As the title implies, it could be another source of income for Inc's Dave's interesting things shop.
I envisage a hard plastic plate with a safety pin attached to the back. I have no idea of the cost of manufacture, input from anybody with experience would be appreciated.

For what reason would they be needed, Ian.? The Forum subscribers are spread all over the country (and overseas) so we rarely get together, unless you are thinking of an annual dinner or something.
We ( some of us anyway) have a shirt with the AULRO logo on it and and a few of us have our Forum names on the front which we would wear at get togethers such as the LandRover Expo at Castle hill, each year.
Any rate that's my thought on it.:)

Sorry Ian, I had to vote 'not interested' but that's because I'm not interested in that sort of thing in general, it's not a reflection on the idea.

I enquired about getting a name badge made up for the wife and myself, just our names on a green back ground.
It ended up getting made as as present from a friend so can't help with costs.
I use it at most social events involving the Land Rover.
I'm actually wearing it now as I introduce my self to folk at Glenreagh.
It's handy as I'm hopeless with names but at lest I can check who I am:p
Being a plain back ground I can use it at other forum meets too.
It's possibly the sort of thing a more socially active member would use rather than once or twice a year.
Ideally for me it needs the persons name prominent and a suttle background.
A magnetic clip would be nice too so we don't damage shirts etc. but could be pricey.

The upcoming "Keep Jim honest" bash got me thinking about it mate. As you may have noticed I only wear buttoned shirts with two pockets, work, casual or formal. If we could get a forum shirt in that style with names, I'd buy one or two.

No need to be sorry, your frankness is appreciated. Only with such honesty can the viability be gauged.

You wear steel shirts? :o I'm impressed. :p
Keep an eye on Marshy, don't let him lead you astray. ;)
Sorry I couldn't make it, blame Aussie Post. I ordered a luggage rack from the 'States, it took three days to get to Brisbane airport via Japan; ten days later I'm still waiting for it to complete the last twelve kilometres. Have fun all of you.

Name tags are good for lost souls, they can be found and returned where they belong.;)

I don't want a name tag in heaven, someone might read it and realise I'm supposed to be down below in the Triumph garage

These would be excellent for event's such as Melrose and the Winter Wombat etc.
Even smaller 1 off events like when a heap of us met up at Templestow etc.
Obviously we get to know each other, but still good for anyone who's not sure,,, like me :D,, old age is starting to set in, and I've never been good with names, as is the same with a lot of people.

thats why the word mate was invented....
you just say g'day mate or how ya goin mate.
actually I really try to help out at gatherings by saying to people....do you remember xxxx and yyyy?.....they were here last year....

those badges as laid out, I wouldn't be so interested in because they look too cluttered.
a cleaner layout similar to the top one with the forum/preferred name in the oval and a descriptor/real name/preferred name as the underlining text would be about perfect I'd think.

Cheers Dave, I tend to agree re the design but it really was just hastily thrown together as a starting point. Had there been keener support it would be worth investing more time. A small version of the tyre cover would be a definate possibility.

The Department of Railways issued me with not one, but two name badges as part of our new uniform when we changed our name and logo. As fate would have it I seem to have lost both before I even had a chance to remove them from their plastic packaging.
I guess the fact that the department spelled my name wrong (after so many years of my faithful service!) didn't help...
What I am trying to say is that I am not really a name-badge kind of guy. So I voted not interested. But maybe a nice AULRO key ring...???

I like the idea. Might only use it once in a blue moon but handy. I also like Dark61's sticker notion. They could go together as a pack.

thats the nice thing about doing the magnetic version of it is if you make the badge the magnet side and the backer for inside the shirt the metal bit you can use it as a fridge magnet.
