Just heard that a bushfire has started in southern Tassie.

Yep . Dromedary I think. We can see the smoke from here. The winds are gusting horribly.


I knew the bloody place was going to go up.

There are reasonable sized ones up at Buckland and waddamana way. We've had a helicopter trundling up the highlands this afternoon, no water bombing though, I think the wind is making that side of it not possible.

yeah - I hadn't thought of trying to fly a Helicopter in that. Jesus. It was only the Helicopters that saved this place in 2013.

We have friends who live in Cranes Road. Dromedary, but also have a holiday block in Spring Beach. Apparently , they are two of the three places with fire issues currently. Seems they can't win at the moment. 130man.
