Hello all,

I searched the forum, but nothing specifically addressing this....
Regarding the Garrison sliding window kit (http://garrisonoutfitters.com/product-catalogue/vehicle-equipment/window-channel-kits/rubber-window-channel-for-land-rover-defender-rear-sliding-window.html)

The Garrison website states, "Note: This is product is not designed for use with the newer windows (post 2001) because the windows are bonded in place making them very difficult to remove."

My Deefer is 2006, so I am wondering if anyone else has used this kit on a post 2001 model, and what you thought of the above 'disclaimer'?

Flocked bailey channel No. 350.360 is available from auto rubber suppliers and will cost a great deal less than that price. I got mine from Spectrum Rubber at St Marys, now closed, but I believe you can get the stuff from:

MVR Industrial Pty Ltd
1/44 Peachtree Road
Penrith NSW 2745
0404 298 064

Don, thanks for this. I remember reading your post on this from one of the other threads (very helpful). Did you have to remove the window and frame to put the bailey channel in, and if so, was the "bonding" on the post 2001 models an issue for you?

Cheers,

Mine is a '97 model, so I know nothing about the bonding. My old buggered channel came out easily. I did not remove the frame or windows, but fitted the new stuff by sliding the windows from side to side. I recall there was a short bit under the centre crossover that I couldn't get the new channel into.(about 2") The glass has been snug ever since.
