The fishing wasn't the best, I think a total of 2 were able to be kept, 1 Whiting and 1 Dart - had them for lunch today - Very tasty:)

So ill get the ball rolling with some images. I didn't get many, as usual, but I did get some.
The trip up the highway was eventless and actually rather enjoyable. Very easy drive to rainbow where I finalised some booking details at the parks office and got my barge ticket. Filled up with beer and fuel and ready to roll.
The weather was not the best with varying degrees of rain fall on the trip up, by the time we got to the barge landing it had settled a little.
Images of us waiting for the barge attached.

First stop on the island was to collect some pipi for those whom needed bait for fishing.
Then it was a cruise drive to camp where everyone got set up and I struggled to work out how I wanted to place the tarp. Which I was never happy with, but then mother nature made me have to relocate it after it turned into a swimming pool outside our tent.
A few other niggling issues, first being the Weber BBQ was not working 100%, then my car seemed to drain the batteries on random nights, two of the mornings my vehicle was completely flat. So looks like I need to chase some wiring or replace my batteries.
I didn't get many images on the first day, so the next lot of images attached are from the drive across the island to the western side and then the following day up the Sandy cape.

The second day was a run across the guts to the western side.
We ventured inland first stopping at the Knifeblade Sandblow and then Lake Allom to see the turtles.
Then half way across the island we head north along the track to Awinya Creek.
This was deep looking but after numerous walks though the many options we all got through easily.
We head south along the western beach to Woralie Creek where we stopped for lunch before venturing east back across this island to camp.
I must point out that Tony and Tom got stuck on this day. In a cross axle section that more momentum would have been the only option for both.
The Salisbury rear prevented Tony from going either forward or backward as it had set itself firm into terrafirma!
So that was day two for me. And again unfortunately only the images in my previous post.
I'm certain more images will be posted as there was numerous cameras about.
I'll leave it at that for now, I think someone can take over with a bit of detail and images for day three which involved some recoveries.
A quick mention before I scoot. Guy did a good job of organising the day to day adventures and it was great company and enjoyable to be with you all on the island. I may have been ill but I still made the most of the days with warm beer and laughter! Also thanks to Tony and Nicole for bringing ample supplies of everything to keep Fry entertained.
I'd also like to thank Mark as no doubt he will have some great images to share. He spent a lot of time heading off very early in the mornings on his own to capture some great images, and I look forward to seeing them once he has finished editing them for our viewing pleasure.
Also thanks to Tom and Noel for sharing some grog (Josh grog) after I had run out of warm beer. Noel also had a pretty good camera on board and was taking many photos so hopefully we can obtain some to share.
Lastly to the Jordans who as always are great company and provided a solid chunk of entertainment for us in the form of a game known as Kubb!
I'll be back later to post some more images that can already be viewed on the club Facebook page.

I for one had a great trip thanks to our TL Guy and the rest of the troop. Friday we had rain and it was bucketing down at Rainbow when we got there. Thankfully the weather cleared on Saturday and from then on it was clear and sunny.
My high points were getting to Sandy Cape which was spectacular as always and dragging myself out of bed at 4AM each day for some photography, having Indian Head and the Maheno. The camp fire chat was excellent as always.
Low points were getting stuck  in front of the Orchid Beach servo trying to snatch someone else, driving down the beach to the Maheno for sunrise and driving past it in the dark
Some pics at Awinya Creek.

Thanks for a great trip guys. Grimace just about covered everything except here's a few extra highlights from me. .
The Pinz getting airborne - wish we got it on camera! I laughed for about 5 minutes, it was so awesome :p
Tony losing his pants - heard a bit of commotion and popped my head around the side of the car and there's Tony with his pants around his ankles and Jack laughing his head off :o
Glow stick charades - last night around the camp fire and the kids had glow sticks (thanks again Nicole x) and we decided to make shapes with them and guess what it was. Everyone ended up playing. Needless to say there were a few phallic representations. ...
Big thank you to everyone for making it such a great trip and helping us out when we almost got flooded the first night.
Timmy had the best time playing with Jack, thanks so much for entertaining him all weekend Jack :)
Also just a quick end note.... it's a boy, had my scan today and there was no mistaking it! So next year it will be me and my 3 boys, god help me ;)

Thanks. At times the sand was higher than the car, but I missed those shots - it does look pretty cool though.

I totally forgot about Arnie getting airborne!
I have to say it was a fast paced hit to a sharp rise in the sand that sent Arnie aprrox 8" in the air for a good couple meters! Nailed it like an Ultra4 vehicle. Sharp launch smooth landing! WAS ORSUM! Totally wish I had a go pro running for that one!

I may have driven past it in the dark  but I did manage to get back there in time for the sunrise.
