Hi, can anyone tell me why my full-sized standard load-rated spare wheel with OEM tyre might have a bit 50mph/80kmh speed limit warning sticker on it?

Check the load /speed rating on the tyre itself...

I take it you've had the vehicle from new and the tyre is the factory issue?

Probably the company that painted/powder-coated the wheel were covering their butt! (Or having a Friday afternoon laugh!) ;)

Hello Stuart02,

From the photo the rim looks like the rims used on the D3 HSE V8 but painted black.

Does it have the following ratings on the back of the rim?
Cromodora Wheels
8Jx19EH2-53
Max Load 940kg

Second hand car, I cant remember the exact rating numbers but it's just a Continental road tyre...

Is it possibly to do with being a 19" spare with 20" full time (factory) wheels?

And yeah, I like the black powder coat!

My pet hate spares different from the other 4.
Main reason I got a VW, most Euros don't have a real spare

It does look like that, and its an 8J but not 940 load rated...
