So I just thought I would share the canopy I had made for the 130.
We had it fitted today and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
It was built by Lokka for those of you that know him on here for those of you that don't he started up a relatively new business called custom off road fabrications and he is based in Newcastle area.
I wanted a cage for the tub so we could secure stuff in the back including dogs should we wish too, I wanted to have exactly the same profile as the original hoops so I could put a hannible roof rack on at a later date.
We have even managed to still use original canvas.
I wanted lift up doors for easy access and a solid roof so the canvas doesn't get that horrible sag over time.
It also had to look nice in the event we wanted to take con as off and he has made it strong enough for us to stand on.
All made out of Ali for weight saving.
Build quality is extremely good, but then I wouldn't expected anything less from Chris hence why I wanted him to build it.
Anyway hope you like it as much as I do. :)

Looks good. I like how it's secretly secure under the canvas.

All doors are lockable too so even if someone lifts the canvas they can't get in :)

Yeah he has done an awesome job!!! Couldn't be any happier really.
I went through a stage of feeling slight regret for buying a tub rather than a tray after seeing how adaptable trays are, but now I have this I have no regrets at all. Because I love the standard look of the 130 with tub and canvas.
I love the fact i now have a bit of versatility and security etc

Yes im sure he doesn't want to hear this but he should be making these en masse. I and lots of others aren't tray lovers. This is the perfect answer!!!☺

Thats a very nice job he's done, Patriot do one for a 110 DC, I think Yorkshire John may have even had one.
What was the price fitted?

Probably going to put it on the roof of the hannible roof rack when I get round to ordering one. Otherwise will put it back in its original place, Ian wants the fridge there though so would like to relocate it.

Has to be the best canopy I've ever seen.

That's one of the best canopies I've seen! Love the cage underneath it, I'm always leaving (my less valuable) tools in the back of mine and I know one day something will get pinched. The piece of mind knowing everything is secure would be worth the price alone I think. Enjoy!

A canvas guy that Lokka knew, yes it is the original canvas we did this to save on cost.

Fantastic canopy Lou, Lokka has done a great job.
Maybe budget for a new canvas in about three years, IME the UK canvas doesn't cope with Southern Hemisphere UV radiation.
I went through two genuine canvas canopies in the space of about six years, they just fell apart.
I'm just running an open tray these days, I like the 'look' and the extra vision, but from a work and tools perspective it's a backward step. As a compromise I use a big Pelican Space Case across the tub, it's a neat fit, I'm guessing because they are designed for the ADF 110's ?
And congrats on the Chrissy present too. :D

THREAD RESURRECTION !!!!!
Any chance of a report as to how it was/is living with this set up?
Mrs V has given me the go ahead to get some sort of canopy set up done, and this looks like a good option.
As an aside, does the canvas top keep most of the rain out?
I was thinking of perhaps using that curtain stuff they use on the side of trucks as a cheaper than canvas option....
