Hi guys

I have finally got my 1982 Series III SWB imported and through its roadworthy.

I have just popped into the parts department of a well known prestige Land Rover dealer in Perth and asked about Series III parts - and got looked at as though I had two heads when I explained that I didn't mean Series 3 Discovery...

Can anyone recommend some local (WA Perth) land rover service parts suppliers (notably gaskets, seals, bearings, stub axles, half shafts etc.) for older vehicles, with a particular focus on Series III vehicles and Rover V8 engines? Somewhere with a physical shopfront and knowledgeable staff preferred to mail order if possible.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend any service parts suppliers in wider Australia who charge sensible prices for inter-state shipping?

Second question - Although I do most of the maintenance myself, can anyone recommend a local garage (Perth, WA) which knows one end of a series land rover from the other?

Third question - Can anyone recommend a modification shop which charges reasonable rates for basic welding jobs (tags onto barwork for lights and aerials for example) and can also do simple roll cage modifications (insert a couple of tubes into an existing roll cage)?

Cheers

Alistair

Hi Alistair
I think Rovacraft in Bayswater do series parts. As far as servicing I don't really know but I would ring Rovertech in Welshpool

Cheers

X2 rovacraft for a local spares place. At present we're not well blessed with local spare parts specialists or even wreckers.

As for wider Australia, Karcraft in Sydney are worth a try.

With respect to local mechanics, give Wilf Chambers in Osborne Park a call. I've seen a couple of series 3s in his workshop this year, when taking Charlie and Lady P to him for their regular checkups.

Can't recommend any metal shops though as I haven't had any experience there.

Cheers
