Label makers

My electrical cabling has become somewhat abstract ? confusing ? unique ?
So i thought as a XMAS task i would have a tidy up.

Looking for a label maker that is water/oil/dust proof, the labels that is, at a sub $100 price.

So far a Dymo Leratag and metallic tags look the best bet, may have to trim for fuse box

I've got a RhinoPRO 3000 labeller.
Prints on vinyl, polyester, nylon, heat shrink up to 12mm high.
Purchased Ex USA, I think it was under $20 to buy, and about that again to ship IIRC.
You can spend phenominal amounts on those devices, but I've found that the rhino does what I need it to (which is pretty much what your requirements are, it seems).

The Brother and the TZe laminated labels are reasonably economic, will give them ago.

I might be confused on the price I paid, but I do recall I got it as a runout off amazon and lowballed the bloke proper on the price as an offer, and he accepted!

The heat shrink is really cool, but the material you print on is the tubing flattened out, so at max 12mm it's still a max 6mm OD cable you can wrap.

The functions I've found to be most useful is cable wrap, and cable flags.
Having the ability to print content within a defined tag length is also cool, but I've not found a use for it yet.

The more expensive the machine, the more functions, and larger labels it can take. If it can pass as a work expense, then go nuts, if you are in any kind of office job or IT then it will be a piece of cake to get it past the tax man :angel:

We use an older version of one of these at work:

I borrowed it occasionally to make labels for my 101. The self-laminating type cables are durable and give a very neat finish, and can pretty much be as long as you want.

The nylon cloth labels are also far superior to the junk my old dymo labeller spits out.
