MY16 Defender 110 sold out in W.A.

The red is a great colour. Not that I'm biased or anything and I reckon it will look fantastic with a black pack. We know someone with the old red and black roof and that looks great. :D

Whilst I have red with a white roof - I have seen the red with a black roof and it looks good.

There appear to still new Defenders of various descriptions showing in Dealers on "Carsales", but apparently, from what you're saying, ya can't rock up & order your own spec any more,....ya have to take what's on the floor, or what they've already ordered?

Congratulations, the red will look great! I ordered mine in September for March delivery and knew there were only 2 or 3 others left in the State. Corris grey, black pack, contrast premium leather and side runners. You're right, the wait is awful :p

If it was covered in mud and dirt it will be the one I know. Its just got a black roof as its a 2014 model. I daresay you will meet him once you get your Defender as he is a very enthusiastic Defender owner. :D

Amusingly I rushed in to order mine around June last year as I wanted a last year of production to be the book end to my father in law's 1948. Got a 2015 build (July 2014) and now we actually have 2016 models.

Part of me is disappointed we don't have the first and last year of production. But not much as I have the best ever car I have owned (well maybe it's equal to my 1964 Austin Healy Sprite - my first car which used to be my Dad's). I got exactly what I wanted from my build specifications and every day you will see me beaming as I drive it to work and back again.

"Stopped Taking Orders"?.......No problem for any of us, we have ours,.....but from now on, for those wanting "a new one", I wonder how they will feel? But in reality, surely there won't be too many in this boat, because surely there has been enough warning,....everywhere.

I agree with you on that one , there has been plenty of warning . Plus a lot of speculation about the replacement . Believe It or not he still gets inquiry's from people wanting Defenders !!.. Jim :)

Checked the site today,...only Defender was a red 90 with some nice options, premium red seats, Dual finish alloys, side runners etc $56K driveaway....which looks like full retail.....a nice one all the same.

I was told I got their last 110 so that makes sense. Very nice little 90 indeed.

I got mine from Albany, and it was 3.5k less than Perth prices... I had good service from them too. Free flight down, full tank of fuel to come home with..... What more could you ask for? :D

Yep, I had a very similar experience. I think their whole business model involves undercutting metro dealers and flying customers down. Works for me :)

Yesterday I found out my D90 was on the boat chuffing over here. Dealer said ETA was 29 Jan so things are tracking well. I got the dealer spec cos I jumped in too late but did ok: White, sawtooths, sunroof, half leather, alpine pack and side runners. Wanted grey but I think white will work good now I'm in Adelaide.

Got them to organise fitting ARB bull bar, runva 11xp and some 265 Kevlar MTR's.

My Defender is on the Morning Calypso making its way across several European ports and then down to South Africa. It is expected to be in Fremantle on the 17th Feb. It is currently in the port of Bremerhaven, Germany.

You should head down and have a look when it gets in (if you can). Mine was clearly visible from Peter Hughes Drive that runs alongside the holding lot :D

At this stage it might be a bit difficult to get a photo as it is booked into the North Quay Berth 12. I could try a shot from the train bridge, would require being in a moving train... Will need to scout a few locations... On Google maps it looks like they park the cars off Tydeman Rd, should be able to get a shot.

Things could change, it has already slipped to the 19th at 11:00am.

This weekend is a long weekend, we are staying at the Gracetown caravan park. Along with Beefy, white Puma 110, and DiscoWA and Ferret both D4s. Will keep an eye out.

If you are interested make sure they keep all the stickers off your Defender. The broadcast sheet should be with it, it is the sheet which accompanies your vehicle during build, & details ALL specs of YOUR build.

My dealer was obliging when I asked him to do this for me and provided all stickers as requested, but insisted there was no build sheet accompanying the vehicle. My guess is it was tossed when the vehicle was processed.

I'm not too bothered though. There's a multitude of documentation detailing the order spec, as well as screen captures from JLRs order management system.

The red really does look a treat, congratulations! It's funny, one of my colleagues was saying how he nearly bought a 110 in October and showed me the quote he was given - it was your car! His wife didn't let him have it in the end, which worked out well for you. I'd be looking for a new wife if I was him :p

I am visiting the UK ATM and saw these 2 beauties at my local dealer... the '65' plate is up to Feb 29th 2016... and the '16' plate is after March 1st.

VERY VERY few '16' plate Defenders will ever be registered in the UK... a real collectors item!

Having said that, registering on Feb 29th would have been pretty neat too! :D

Tailslide, congratulations on a very smart Defender. You'll find the wait well worth while, We had to wait, like many others, 6 months for Gracie,....so now you can enjoy,....some of your initial thoughts & feelings would be good.
