So the price seems right! I have been thinking about one of these for some time, & when they hold these sales the value seems there!

But not having any experience with this brand I was hoping some of you peps might have bought one or used one before!

Mounting on a ARB winch bar.

Thoughts please!

Regards Chris.

I've got the same winch on a winch bar that I transfer between two of my 90's.
I've had the winch for about two years and so far it's been good, haven't had any problems with it, although it hasn't been used for any really heavy duty work or for any great length of time.

The chrome finish on a few of the bolts and nuts and fittings isn't the best, and rust is starting to show on a few of them.

The cables supplied are nowhere near long enough to reach back to a defender battery compartment. Also, the cables are fairly light for the load capacity of the winch.

I haven't had any problems with the solenoids or controls so far, but I am planning to put different solenoids and heavier cables on it when I get the time.

I have the winch off at the moment and plan to disassemble the winch and check the internals and re-grease them , but at least for another month I'm busy with work travelling between Australia and the U.K.

Normally I wouldn't buy something like this, preferring to usually go with a well proven brand, but my winch that I had on the bar got stolen from my vehicle one night when it was parked in my driveway.
I saw the winch on special at roughly the same price as advertised now, and decided to give it a go.

And the winch after two or so years, little bit of rust coming through the chrome fittings and a bit of corrosion on the alloy fairlead.

The winch cable on it is not protected from the sun in any way with my winch bar being exposed, and I'm not sure how good the winch cable is after two years in the sun...

Thank for the info Mike, I would have thought for the dollars this thing go's for when it's on special a couple of times a year more folks would have it!
Any how I might go have a look, as I mostly travel alone it could be handy to have.
Best regards Chris

Just make sure you strip it down every time you dunk it, don't let it stall and buy a service kit with it you should be good to go!

I bought one as well, unfortunately I can't give any meaningful input as it is still sitting in its box in my shed.....
