Hi Mario has gone fishing today, took his boat out again. He went out on cup day and his neighbour when as well. They caught 5 very large snappers.
The guy that went with him had not caught a snapper before. Stayed away from the other boats, went down from them, as they had been putting out burley and it was floating down to where he was.
They had to hide the catch when pulling them up as if seen then the other boats would have been all over them. Hope he catches more as he comes home in a good mood but he is in pain for the rest of the week. This guy pays his way, boat fuel, washes the boat for him and pulls the boat out.
If he catches any today I will get him to put up the photos as I do not know how to do that.
Heather;)

Hi Heather,
Well the boys should be back by now, with or without fish and with lots of bull **** tales of woe or otherwise.
Hopefully the Mk. 27 trailer has survived the ordeal :D.

Good to hear that someone's catching a couple. I'm having a horror stretch, my last couple of outings have been "Captain Crap strikes (out) again" !!!. Get those photos into "The Fishing Shack" and there isn't too much wrong with oven baked Snapper either.

Well today, it was hard going, Launched at Hastings and motored to Corinella Western port.
The Armada of vessels was thick where we fished on Cup day, so by passed it. Picked up some fish on the sounder, but not feeding, so moved to our Cup day spot and fished the last of the run out tide.
Slack water we moved along the Shipping channel at Hastings off Esso. Heaps of boats there, so we went down current from them. No activity on the sounder, but I've got fish there before so we waited a couple of hours. There was only about a 1metre of tidal variance this afternoon so not much flow.
About an hour before sunset, all the other boats had left. Once they left, we got a run of fish come through. All was over in about 1/2 hour.
I caught 2 snapper 1 x 6.5 kg, a fat male that gave a good account of himself, then 5 mins later a smaller 45cm snapper. We fished on until 9.30pm then cleaned the fish, and headed home and arrived home at 11.50 pm. So a big afternoon. Tomorrow off to Warneet to fish the upper reaches of Westernport, in hope for some snapper or gummy shark is the plan. Gentle man hours again.
Western port you need to fish the tides, We do well 1.5 hours before the low tide usually, but this arvo we got them 1.5 hours after the low tide on the run in.

I really need to get my boat out on the water, its sat in the carport since Deb got sick, infact I brought it back from the boat mechanics that week after sorting $1000 of problem out.She will not go out on it since having the stroke unfortunately, and its 200 or 250km to launch it from here.

Sorry to hear Andy. I am also in the same position - I haven't had the Sharkcat out for over 12 months now - I have withdrawal symptoms:D
But on a brighter note, I just finished the towbar on the 6by so hopefully will get it out before Christmas.

Well Mario did have time to wash the boat on Tuesday because he had to take his sister to hospital. HE did flash the engine. And today he delivered some parts that where to big to post to Seaford. So back he comes to wash the boat ;)
