30s era Plymouth or Studebaker, just as a quick first look guess.

A Merc?

There seems to be a spot for a badge/emblem on the top of the cowl - and the mesh looks Merc to me......?

Reminds me of a Buick. There was an old Buick sitting in my Grandfather's paddock for years, and I have a badge which I think came off the grille of that car.

Its almost beer barrel ford style , its narrow so possibly English like a Morris.

Early Chev had a long narrow grille too, but I'm just fishing to see if Erich will give us some clues... :)

If I had to have a guess, I'd say Vauxhall?

It actually reminded me of a couple of vehicles in the district when I was VERY young.

The hint it was made in England gave it away Erich.

Funny, I saw the thread just after Erich posted it and the first vehicle I thought of was a Bedford but the carpet layer turned up and I had to go.

Gav, it wasn't a Vauxhall because there are no flutes on the top corners (my first registered car was a 1938 Vauxhall 14/6 Model J). However, Bedford was the commercial version of Vauxhall.

A car frequently seen driven by the Resistance in Hogan's Heroes is a 1935 Vauxhall 14/6 with the flutes painted over. American audiences would never pick it.

Glad you had your priorities right Ron.

Getting laid is far more important than the forum. ;)
