UHF install incoming.... From the centre console, I've managed to pull the coin tray off its sliding mechanism. Now I want to remove the sliding tray part, to fettle it a bit at the back to allow wires to pass through. Any clues ???

JimLR. I recently fitted a LLAMS kit and a CB but after about 3 seconds I decided not to pull out any of the centre console parts to mount things there because, for me, breaking bits looked pretty certain. I ended up mounting the CB, which is a slim sized unit, on the flap under the steering wheel and running all the cable up to a hole in the firewall just above the steering column. The LLAMS controller knob found a home on the LHS of the steering column. This meant I could avoid taking apart the centre console. I've also included a photo for the aerial mounting.

D4's can be a pain in the butt for mounting accessories like radio's, brake controllers etc. One thing to consider though with mounting anything rigid and with brackets in the area under the steering wheel is what happens if you have a head on? Because that is the area that your legs smash into in a crash.

Very true and worth considering.

Thanks for the hints and ideas, I did fabricate a bracket to mount under the wheel, but I find it inaccessible/legs in the way....
So back to the idea of pulling out the coin tray and mounting in there....anyone any dea how to pull it out of thecentre console???
