Richard & Carolyn Green have been killed in a chopper crash.

I went to one of Richard's exhibitions a few years ago and found his work fantastic. His background, camera work, mode of travel, lifestyle all inspiring.

Sadly the press are already at it, trying to blacken his name.

I didn't know much about him but did see a large photography community pay tribute so I'm guessing he had a large impact on a lot of people

I wasn't aware of him either, didn't have the profile of somebody like Ken Duncan. Just had a look at some of his work, looks quite impressive.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Richard and Carol a couple of times in the past. Richard was always happy to have a chat with me about his adventures around the country in his EC130 Helicopter.
There was a set up in the back like most of us have in our 4wd. A good set of custom made cargo drawers with all their camping and photography equipment.
On many of their trips as they flew along if they spotted a place that looked interesting, they would land and set up camp for a day or two, so as to explore and take pictures.
Richard and his Wife, both flew the Helicopter and Richard also did most of the Aircraft Maintenance himself, having completed the Helicopter Maintenance courses at the Eurocopter (Airbus) factory.
A sad loss to the Aviation and Photography community.

We caught the end of Ch 7's Sunday Night TV programme where they were discussing the crash and Green. He had apparently had his pilot's licence suspended by CASA for flying into power lines. Dick Smith said he'd been told by several pilots that Green had damaged the tail rotor several times but continued to fly with damaged blades.

I haven't yet watched all of the report. You might get it on catch up TV on the 'net.

I saw the program last night,i suppose we will eventually find out what happened.
His flying record wasn't the best,of late apparently.

That was certainly one big expensive chopper.
