Well given the only sport i like is motorsport i thought it best to start a thread especially for it.

A few questions.

Is Alonso going to win the F1 World Crown or will Kimi catch him?

Will williams give webber a car that goes fast, given it is racing i thought they would have worked on this before releasing the car?

Can Ambrose be beaten this year, epsecially by Ingall?

Simon Evans is a top driver (ARC) when will Lady Luck be on his side?

How long before we see Chris Atkinson on the podium of a WRC round?

That will do for now. Matt

YES & NO

Will williams give webber a car that goes fast, given it is racing i thought they would have worked on this before releasing the car?

NO & Webber is over-rated and may be up for sacking. There, Ive said it.

Can Ambrose be beaten this year, epsecially by Ingall?

NO

Also: Valentino Rossi will he become the greatest rider ever? Will Melandri come second in the MotoGP championship.

Casey Stoner: Is he as good as his name?

When I was rallying one of the guys I spent many hours with was a guy by the name of Joe Brick (Birkic was his real surname) who was also Simon Evan's navigator when Simon Evans came onto the scene in the Corolla Cup.

Joe was a reasonably good driver and car builder but one hell of a crap navigator since he constantly told the driver how to drive. One of my mates had Joe as a fill in navigator and he got so p1ssed off with Joe that he ended up stoving his 180BSSS straight into a tree stump. I don't know how Simon Evans put up with Joe to win the Corolla Cup until he replaced him with Sue.

Motorsport now your talking. Anyone that can beat Handbag I mean Ambrose has got to be tops in my book. Better still anyone who can run him off the track causing extensive damage to his Furd without being penalised will be a genius. Good to see him beaten this weekend. My brother must be adopted, he thinks Ambrose is God has and even has bought an Ambrose XR8 with Devil R plates. He has to be adopted, either that or he is retarded. As a druiver i think he can be beaten, but the car and engine is a freak (I think the Stone brothers msut be living up to their name). Drag racing is also great at least the bikes will be competative in the US when they finally allow the Suzukis to drop 10pounds. The US NHRA spent so long penalising the Gukis until the V twin Hardley's and Buell****s could barely be beaten. I do love vtwins too as I have a Duke. Motocross etc as well.

Not bad exit, i wish i had the cash to do race days like that, paying your cash and hooning around in go karts is a **** load of fun.

Secondly- Go Ingall, it was damn good to see him pass ambrose and leave him for dead. Apparently Ambrose got on the radio and was demanding to know why Ingall was going so fast. I would love to see Ingall beat him. If only Stone Brothers would stop favouring Ambrose in pitsops etc and give Ingall a go. Matt

I have read that to, i was happy to hear it, because if there is one engine company on earth who makes damn good engines, its Cosworth, they helped Shooy win his first couple of championships with benetton (Now Renault). Fingers crossed Williams can get the car sorted out. Matt

Well you always need someone to drive the dud car as a backup for the main man.

Why do you think Rubens has had the sh!ts with Ferrari ?

I really want to like Rubens... he's a nice guy. However he consistently underperforms next to Michael. I'm sure there are reasons... but I don't know what they are. It is possible that Michael is exceptional and Rubens is very good. It's also possible that Micael is just very good and Rubens is at best average. I guess we'll find out next year style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

What is neat about our Mark is that he has consistenly been quicker than whoever has been placed next to him. He's has problems with starts, and some bad luck this year. He still keeps shining as a racer though. Whitness him giving shuey the bird as schuey punted him on the weekend. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

IMHO anyway style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I'm a Rubens fan = always liked the Brazilians - have a lot of emotion in the way they race. The opposite of those clinical Germans

I actually do think that Mark Weber has a good careeer ahaead of him but whether he can take that leap to regulalry winning races... is another thing. Time will tell. How good would it be to see an Aussie on the top of that podium and hearing them play our poxy national anthem !!!

I agree with you there too. He needs to win a few to get in the zone. Unfortunately the Williams isn't quite up to it at the moment. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

Ok, a few things have brought up in my absence.

Shooy- never have liked the many, not since he rammed Damon Hill during the Australian Grand Prix, the last one they had at Adelaide. Michael was leading and Hill was second, all Michael had to do was finish in front of Hill and the championship was his. Mickael ran wide on a corner and side swiped the wall. This irrepairably damaged his Benneton. He was pulling left into the safety run off area when hill rounded the corner Michael had stuffed up on. Hill went right to follow the racing line when Michael saw him and swerved across the trackand collided with him, there for ruining Hills race and winning the championship. It was found afterwards Michael had done nothing wrong but i dont car what anyone says he cheated. To top that off he did the same thing to Villenevue in 1997, but the move only damaged Villenevues radiator and he was able to limp the rest of the lap to victory.

Barracello- a top driver, but noone will ever stand a chance of winning anything, no matter how good they are, if Michael is their team mate, the team dont allow it. Look at what lengths Shooy went to to regain the lead after a slow pitstop at this years dismal USA grand prix, he ran him off the road so he could finish first. Not sportman like, but you get that when shooy is involved.

As for Webber, i dont think any claim that he is a dud are even close to the mark. He has proven his ability this year, and up until mid season he was the best overall qualifier in the field. With a decent car under him he will most certainly be world champ, Renault agree, so does frank williams. Matt

So, with Sandown looming this weekend, who is going to win?

Going on the previous 2 years you would have to say Ambrose or Ingall, Ingall would have one last year if he didnt happen across a prang an get forced wide allowing Ambrose through, and they would have won in 03 had ingall of pumped the brakes up properly exiting his pit stop., having said all that i dont want to jinx them. In the end it could be anyones race, you never know who will win these races. Matt

Hey wheelnut,
I'm looking at building a Lantra rally car, and was wondering where I could get some performance bits or at least some info. Would you be able to help me at all?
