Hi Everyone,

I thought that it was time to post especially after 8 months in the shop (big shout out to Land Vehicles Spares) Sweet Pea lives again!!!

The old girl had a few problems that we have now rectified which also allowed me to get full road rego. She enjoys the once or twice a week trip to work despite the old girl still having a few leaks. As Jorge my mechanic told me........'if she isn't leaking oil somewhere......she's not a Land Rover'

LVS convinced me to run the free wheeling hub which has made her a little easier drive but may have effected the originality but im not sure.

I have to be honest and say that with all the ups and downs over the last 8 months almost drove me to selling her but that first and subsequent drives has made it totally worth it............not to mention that with the windscreen down I get more looks than Ferraris

I will quickly ask does anybody know a good panel guy/girl......time has come to fix up the panels. Also I am looking at putting 700 tyres on her but I understand that this will incur some gearing problems. I know that this has been covered previously but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated..........especially where to get the actual tyres if it is feasible.

Appreciate you guys looking!!

What a fantastic looking Land Rover, a real credit to you! Wonderful that another has been saved. I hope to see it out and about the streets of Sydney. If you see a guy in an Orkney grey 90 waving frantically, don't stop. Keep going, or I will try to convince you to swap!

Great so see the Series1 being used, it looks a treat.

For Panel beaters Caldwells used to be official Land Rover Panel beaters

Caldwell Auto Body Repairs
2 Harris St, Condell Park NSW 2200

I had some dealings with them many years ago and they were great.

I have seen an add from Shafers

Official Jaguar & Land Rover authorised repairers | Smash Repairs Campbelltown - Shafer Auto (http://www.shaferauto.com.au/news/official-jaguar-land-rover-authorised-repairers/)

I have had no dealings with them though.

What Pedro said, it's a Land Rover, and about as old as me, nothing wrong with the panels.

Good to see it up and about.

Hi Ben

I'd like to thank you for you're acknowledging my efforts of saving you hundreds of dollars, by floating Sweet Pea out to LVS from Thornleigh, in my own time, with my own trailer, tow vehicle and fuel.

But unfortunately I can't, because you haven't.

What is wrong with the panels? HH spent a lot of time painting "sweet Pea" with instructions from PO not to change the patina of the panels.

Ben,

how many times did you move to make sure you got the sunflash off the windscreen in your shot?? :)

Looks great, leave the panels as they are, if you saw a farmer who had been working for 65 years, in the street without and wrinkles or scars surely you'd be sus about his story!!

The cars the same, remember the originals were bought for a reason (no toorak tractors or status symbols then!!) and then treated very much like a tradies or farmers ute... dents/creases/scratches and chips are all legit history!!

Save the money from the panel work and buy a Pith Helmet, a flat cap (andy capp style) and more fuel!!

Enjoy!

(great job Ho Hars!)

Will Bemboka be ready for Paxina next April Diana? ;)I have trouble estimating these days, its a matter of putting the capping back on and bolting up all the panels, but something always gets in the way. I will try. :)
