This one is for you Pedro.
As most of you will know i have only recently closed the doors on my computer games shop, mainly due to a lack of time to do it properly.
This thread is here so you can tell us about any cool games you have played or tell us to steer clear of any crap ones you have played. I still have access to my suppliers so if anyone wants games at just above cost let me know. Matt

Sounds good. I've been playing battlefield vietnam which is awsome, Need for speed underground 2 which is good fun, and axis and allies, one of the best RTS games i've seen for a while!

I'm a fan of the team games like; Conflict Desert Storm/Vietnam and the Socoms... Quite a few people I know bag them quite a bit but I enjoy having a sneak around or a suprise attack. Having the headset for PS2 is also a must to get the real effect.
A couple of other games which I enjoy:
1. The GTA series
2. Hitman Silent Assassin. Haven't tried "Contracts" yet...
3. Splinter Cell's
4. Ghost Recon
5. Killzone
6. Rainbox Six 3
I also have a couple of the G-Con2's as well for shooter games like Time Crisis 2/3, Crisis Zone, Endgame, Dino Stalker, and Vampire Night. Good for when a few mates come over and you want to prove yourself style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
Games I would not recommend:
1. Sniper 2 (awful graphics and so difficult to shoot specific targets because of this reason)
2. Resident Evil - Code Veronica X and Metal Gear Solid - Sons of Liberty. (Not a fan of games in an arcade style where it is third person, but the screen only moves from left to right.)

When i get a chance i mostly play it for the racing/motorsport/anything car related games, and of course the GTA series.
One game i was very very dissapointed in was the much anticipated Gran Turismo 4. I reckon i've played it maybe 3 times total, if i could get a refund on it i would have.
Would be interested in what people think of it aswell and any other car orientated games they can reccommed.

I enjoy Gran Turismo 4 actually, i've played the whole series (bar concept) and the only 2 I don't own are the original and concept.
Other car games, Supercars 2 is supposed to be good, NFSU2 is good as well. Some rally games are good to mix it up at times as well.

Maybe we could do a trade type system. If you have a heap of games (i sold all mine to pay bills, but plan to buy more soon), post a list of what you have on here, make sure you say what the format is (ie PS2, X-Box, PC etc). If someone wants to try one of your games, you can choose one from their list of games and swap by post, beats paying $99.95 for a game you will complete in a week and never touch, if you like the game and want to buy it i will order one for you at a discount price. I have a demo of a PC Game called 'Screamer 4x4'. It cuts out after 8 mins, but it is good fun. You get to drive a diesel 70 series SWB Landcruiser in a huge open 4wding field and do what ever you want. It is quite realistic, you can control everything, hi/lo range, all gears and clutch, and even front and rear difflocks.
It was made a few years ago, so it isnt made anymore...but id still love to get the full version. You can drive a defender in the full version!
If anyone has the full version of this game, please let me know.

Got myself some new games just recently (the beauty of a birthday), in which I got two new games from the "Conflict" series being Conflict: Vietnam and the brand new Conflict: Global Storm.
Conflict Vietnam: Not to bad. I'm only a few levels in and I have found it pretty tough. The big thing that gets me is the jungle that you have to wade through. It makes it really hard to see the enemy and difficult to get a clean shot with the sniper. I guess thats based off the real deal, and their attempts to make things authentic are pretty good.
Just a hint: ditch the weapons that you originally are given and pick up one of the enemies machine guns. The reason being is that you can pick up plenty of ammo specific for that machine gun when you kill the enemy. It was hopeless trying to find ammo to suit my issued gun.
Conflict Global Storm: This is so great. Set in modern day locations which focus on terrorism across the globe. The first two levels are jungle and compound based, but I'm up to a stage now set in the city with performing protection duties of VIP's under attack by Korean terrorists.
They have really made some changes in comparison to the previous games. Firstly, you will have to learn the button combinations all over again as they are all different (PS2 I'm talking about). You are limited to two large firearms and a side arm, but just do like I said to do with Conflict Vietnam and get your hands on an enemies AK because there is heaps of ammo to be found.
They have removed the automatic aiming function (even on the easy setting) so it requires you to really develop accuracy with your shot placement. The fun difference with this game is that the enemies don't stop in the one spot when you start shooting at them like in previous games... in this one they are always on the move looking for cover and hitting the dirt to make themselves less of a target.
The introduction of flashbangs and frag grenades is a cool modern idea. Throwing them is way easier than before. In previous games you were restricted by gravity and had to judge distances by how far you lent back to throw the grenade. Now there is a target dot and it throws the grenade straight to that point.
The "blood splatter" has been increased with this game. A well aimed shot to the head with the sniper rifle creates a large mist plume of blood. Not for the kiddies sorry...
Its been really good so far. In fact... just talking about it makes me want to get back into it style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

One thing I forgot to mention about Conflict: Global Storm.... The first squad vehicle the team gets issued is a modified Defender!! YAY! You see another one resting in a workshop with the bonnet up in a later mission too.

I use to really enjoy the teamgames FPS, had LAN parties and all that - was a ball of fun.
Not so fun these days as FPS tend to make me dizzy after a while.
Played World of Warcraft for the past year or so and had a ball - and yes I enjoyed playing Warcraft / Starcraft as well. WoW is the first MMORPG I've played and I enjoyed it... though it's not as much fun if you're friends can't get online when you do

Now war craft is a game i can play for ours.
Unreal Tournament used to be on the computers here at school, until it was removed. Playing that on the school network was a helluva lot of fun. Matt

I just have bought Driver 3 for the PS2.
What more could a bloke want.
you get to drive differnet cars, pinch other cars, Shoot people, Shoot the police, out run the police, Run people down and there is accually a story to it and you have to kill the bad guys...
Best part is unlocking cars...
Forklifts, Boats, Bikes, Trucks with trailers....... not much stops them...
so far i have completed 40% of my mission and i have unlocked a few cars and bikes....
Graphics are great.... and $29.98 at K-mart this week.....

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is good fun if you like that kind of action. I love stealing Fire Trucks and using the water canon on pedrestrians, blowing them up the street. You can even hijack freight trains and derail them by leaving a push bike (another thing you can steal in this game) on the tracks!

I agree - the latest GTA is a top game. I bought mine ages ago before they went "caffine free".
I've have a few cheats which keep me occupied for a few more hours as well. I won't spoil it, but stealing planes and helicopters is far better than fire trucks https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ I thought the concept of stealing police cars and FBI cars was cool, but when I found out about the planes I can get my hands on.... drooool....
There is just so much more you can do in this game. The whole concept of being able to swim compared to the previous GTA's is so much better. Highly disappointed if you ditched a car in the water and you drowned. Now... you can swim and dive underwater and access an array of boats as well. You can still drown though if you stay underwater for too long.
Just for those that have the game... look around the city and look for the tallest building that you can see. Go to it and walk around it and you will find that there is an entrance which will take you to the very top of the building. Up there you will find a parachute and run off the edge to experience base jumping first hand! Free fall for as long as you can but remember the chute takes time to open. Another favourite with the chute is keeping it and finding the airport. Take a plane and get it up as high as you can and and then exit the plane.... another free fall from a huge height and a great view of the city from way above!
If anyone wants some cheats to try just PM me.

(P.S. Cheats are for Playstation 2)

Not a big gamer anymore, funny how the older you get the less leisure time you have.
Anyhow, best games ever, and if you haven't played them go buy them now.
1. The original DOOM, (in it's day) looking a bit old and rough now though
2. Unreal Tournament, 10 stars and then some more
3. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, FREE multiplayer first person shooter
(eg your a soldier) big download but well worth it, excellent graphics and playability.

I enjoyed Far Cry and I'm a big fan of the 'Call of Duty' series.
Problem is I bought COD2 (I'm talking PC version here) and got through the levels pretty quickly, now I', hanging for more missions. I see they have released "COD: Big Red One" on consoles but not on PC :?
I also play online but often get the $hits because there are too many cheaters   on there. Probably all teenagersw with no girlfriends, one suspects. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
My FAVOURITE game would have to be XIII (as in 'Thirteen'). It's done in a comic book style, has a story running through it, and is an FPS format witha great range of weapons and also vehicles. HEAPS of fun.
Sadly no sign of a sequel yet. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
