G'Day Hiline,
Manage to drop a line (Trout) a couple of times a year, mainly on my High Country Trip at Xmas I do for the Sydney LROC every year.
Never seem to be able to concentrate on just a fishing trip lately like I used to 15 - 20 years ago, get too tied up in off roading and when I get there just want to relax with a Boags, but oneday.......??????
When I move to Orange next few months will have Trout streams within 20km drive actually Summer Hill Creek will be only 13km from my front door.....I live in hope.
Cheers
Bryce

Yeah I know what you mean style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
I've got three, oldest 32 youngest 25. When they were little used to fish near Bermagui every year had some great times with them.
Mostly go with mates when their not too busy...women have ruined some good fisherman, hunters & 4WDrivers.
I am able to do what I want for last the 34 years + 6 before we were married. I think she likes getting rid of me
4 WDriving is easy but getting someone for a weekend fish is hard these days.
Cheers

id like to give it a go...
but where can you fish these days without a boat....
and hiline....you are too far to get together for a weekend...
i would need the weekend just to get there and back....
roverone...i found a spot at menai...dunno what it is.....but its the start of a river...and the last time i was there it was full of fish....
looked just like the generators at newcastle.....fish everywhere....
dunno if it was breeding season or anything but see if you can make out the fish in the water.....and thats only the ones in line with sun you can see...

I used to go for the trout about 10 years back, but found myself going to the spots and spending more time drinking and chatting than fishing.
Progressed from celtas to a fly outfit which I got board of and gave it to a mate. (well he actually lent it and I didn't care that it never got returned)
As much as I love the bush I find river fishing a bit dull.
My main love is surf fishing or rock fishing.
Its a pitty you can't drive on the beaches in Vic otherwise I would get
out there to do more.
I was planning to go to SA this winter for a bit of beach fishing but never
eventuated.
But come Spring I promised to myself that I will head down to Golden Beach to get some gummy shark.
Heres hopeing

If my name hasen't already given you a clue
Fishing of all types is my main passion  the only problem is it is less suitable to adverse weather than 4wding is style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
I fish anywhere and everywhere, be it bass and barra in the dams to marlin east of Moreton, or whiting and dart in the shore dump at Teewah only one thing makes me happier than having a rod in my hand
Well maybe two things

Hi Hiline
Like you my 4X4 passion sremed from chasing fish, but salty ones as there wasnt much in the way of freshwater close by.
Since living inland the joy of going fishing was lost.Plenty of Marron fishing and Yabbie fishing has been enjoyed instead. There are Trout within 30mins of here but there is a lot of water between them,Redfin Perch are plentiful and keenly sort by the local fishing club on competition days.
My mate who has gone home to Derby is a keen Barra fisherman,I cant wait to get up to Derby and have a go.

Once a year we - the men of my family go fishing the snowy - Eucumbene to be exact - stay at the Anglers reach cabins where we are in the PPFC - **** Pots Fishing Club - its one week a year and blokes from allover the eastern seabord come for the week. the AGM is held - its a men only event where there are fines and awards for the best fart - traning takes days of eating pickled anything....
Fish wise we personally fish trolling with rebel lures, while there are all types of fishermen in the club......
This is also an open invertation to everyone who is a memebr of AULRO to join us for the week... club membership is based on the price of the F4 flatfish lure - and as such is $10 ....

g'day all,
i'm a keen trout fisherman!!! every year me and my old man go down to lake eucambene and jindabine to try our luck, but that only lasts a week a year... the rest of the time we frequent stockton beach and all the beaches and rocks around nelson bay hoping to reel in a nice big dewy!!!
we also go out on a few charters (mainly aroud the port macquarie or coffs type area) as we can't afford a decent boat ourselves...
my love for 4wheelin' came from fishing too, many many many fishing trips on stockton beach!!!
i'd love to come on a fishin trip sometime (as soon as i've got some spare money and time off work...)
cheers,
bryce

I usually watch others fishing and if they start catching something I get the rod out, but otherwise my line never gets wet.
Mostly just sits around getting dusty.
