Ok, so I thought I'd look for a winch on Graysonline auctions.... turns out I bid on 2, plus some d shackles, spots, sound system.....

Grays is evil and addictive... someone needs to ban it before I go broke!

Tease.
Give us the prices your currently at at least so we can see if your addiction has any merit or not.
For a winch i would just go to ebay and be done with it.

There ya go. $400 bux and good enough to pull any LR.
I think awdi sold the same thing for $350 a month or 2 ago.

Better than ebay. Pay to much for something sounding great but not in reality if buying and paid not enough for great stuff if selling.

Keep out of the wine section on grays. It's truly scary

dam- another dozen for Xmas:D

What sort of winch can i ask? Cause the rating and accessories make a difference to price i imagine.

I want to get 2 winches. 1 for my 88", and 1 for my D90. BUT I'm not a huge wincher, I just like the insurance policy.

I just own one! yay! now what do I do?

lol not going to tell us the rating of it?
Cause i think that is important.
I mean at the end of the day a 5000 pound unit is not going to pull you out right?

the winch is 8000lbsBad luck, :BigCry: I don't think the winch will work here in Oz any more, the Metric Conversion Board banned lbs back in 1974, so AFAIK we don't have any lbs left.

Now, If you'd won a 3.36Tonne winch you'd be laughing. :D ;)

PTO driven ? Good brand of winch. Only the cable rates it at 8000 lbs, you can go to a 10000 lbs cable or rope no problems. Would bet the limit though.

Cheers HallActually there are both T8000 and T9000 and they have different ratios 39:1 and 49:1 respectively.

However I would be cognoscente of the fact that the winches don't come with the PTO shafting nor transfer box output and have been removed from vehicles for some reason. So I would definitely want to inspect the item before bidding.

Yea I thought of that AFTER i bid :(

Thought maybe I could convert it to a hand crank winch or something maybe...

Bugger!

I wanted to buy the disk brake hubs and thought about $250 for the hub and calliper bracket etc per side a reasonable price so I bid on a scrappy looking 6x6 axle and a similar RFSV axle knowing that I'd likely get one if I were lucky.

I won both. Bugger bugger!

What an I going to do with an extra axle?

(Have attached the final prices for Minto Dandenong and Hamilton Qld (with the final bid and calculated pick up value))

Build a 8 X 8. ?Actually with the 110 assembly from last month, one off a 110 County in the shed and a NOS assembly from the JRA Moorebank factory closure auctions I could build a 14x 14 and then I could add another 3 wide track assemblies making a 20X20 centipede! :D
