Hey gang ? I have read a few posts here and there about looking up my Perentie's history and to see what sort of action it was in before I got it. I see people point to the REMLR site but for the life of me I can't find it! I have my ARN but it isn't listed anywhere.
Mine also didn't come with log-books :( so I would be very interested to see what work has been done if possible. My odometer says 5,000kms......
Is this possible?
Ps thanks for responding to all of my previous posts so quickly! Very helpful!!!

The forum is here:
Registry of Ex Military Land Rovers - Index (http://remlr.com/forum/)
ARNs for Perenties can be found here:
ARN Perentie Lists -REMLR (http://www.remlr.com/ARN/ARNs_perentie.html)
What is the ARN of your Perentie?
The history is in the log books. You may get some in service pictures and other information but that would require research.
Pop on over to the REMLR forum and ask anyway. You never know your luck.
I have seen some Perenties with genuine 1000km on the clock. The speedos were also changed on major rebuilds. Unfortunately, the log book would tell you this.

Also sparkie, this link hopefully will help you as well
JOINING REMLR (http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?board=71.0)
Join the forum (it's free) or join the organisation (not expensive).
Without logbooks you may have trouble tracking info down, and as Mick says above, low kms can be for a number of reasons, rebuild, broken speedo etc.
Did you buy it from the auctions or from a private seller ? If the latter the seller may still have the books.
There will be other indicators of age and use which discussion on the REMLR site may help.

Thanks Mr Marsh — I shall explore REMLR a little further. I joined the other day actually but wasn't able to find what I was looking for. I will perhaps post some questions.
The ARN is 49768 — it isn't on that list unfortunately.

It was purchased from the auction directly. This might sound crazy (as it is) but I purchased mine without actually inspecting it... I have been to a couple of inspections before but never purchased one and just went for it.
Praise the LR gods she seems to be in pretty good knick (yeah I was beyond worried)! I got the KLR boys to pick it up for me as I couldn't get time off and got them to service it ect. I assume if there were log books that they would have been included in the car but I understand that lots don't come with them? Or are they all in a vault somewhere?
THANK YOU!! Very much appreciate your help.

Hi Mr Sparkle
My 48-852 didn't come with Log Books either, some are delivered from Defence to AFM without them.
Some of us have identified parts of the vehicles history by the markings on it. First up is to look for the numbers painted into the formation and unit sign holders. The formation will identify division and unit serial can identify which regiment etc it belonged to.
However you have to remember the same unit serial can be used by similar units in different divisions, this is particularly true of things like Army Reserve Lancer Regiments.
Lastly look for logos and door markings. These are also explained on the REMLR site and forum.
As for the odo, if the speedo wasn't working and it wasn't a broken cable they merely put in a new speedo from spares. The vehicles that went through the Tennex/BAE rebuild line were mostly fitted with a new speedo at the same time although I have a friend that has a Perentie FFR with log books which suggests it went through rebuild immediately before auction, the vehicle looks and drives like brand new but it had a dusty dirty instrument binnacle with lots of k's on the ODO. Perhaps you got his! :D

Wow — that's good news! Thank you! How are you able to find out this info? Is it lurking online somewhere or are they hard copies?

I wouldn't question. National secrets, you know.
If they suspected you knew how to retrieve such secrets, I suspect you would be keeping Julian company at the dinner table.

hi mrs parkle, seems your Landy is 37 perenties newer than mine. I bought 49-731 at the recent Minto auction and its still sitting with the KLR guys who picked it up for me. I havent even seen it yet, apparently the engine turns on but thats all i know for now, oh and its mottly green and has a yellow winch hook..... I also looked up the ARN in REMLR but found nothing. :(
