I want to fit an APT steering guard to act as a steering guard and as recovery points on a 2015 Defender . I Also want to fit the TJM bar

Have been told the APT steering guard does not fit with the TJM bar.

Anyone got this combo who can say if this is so or not ........

Yes the bash plate with holes .....

.when you say you have " the old one "
....do you mean the bar or the plate is "the old one" .......

Do you have any issues accessing the recovery " rings " in the bash plate

I have this combination on mine, all fitted in the last 12months.
If I remember I'll take a photo tomorow for you.

Excellent thanks ....that would be super

As I said I was told they would not fit together .....not sure why

I'm particularly interested if there is easy access to the ring recovery points in the APT guard .....I know the TJM bar hangs a little lower than other bars such as ridjidige .......but I like the combination of the TJM bar and the APT guard for protection and recovery combined

Ignore the bugs, I have not washed for a week or three;)
This on MY2012 and all parts are for 07-current production.

The eye on the APT guard sit very slightly above the winching point of the TJM bar and is usable.
There is a possibility of an attached strap rubbing on the lower edge of the bar if your not pulling in a level line but I have not had an issue.
A piece of rubber etc. would over come this in the rare event you need to be pulling the nose of your Defender up.

The offset at the front allows for a bridle to be fitted if required.

I like to use the APT recovery point for any straps.
If I do a double line pull with the winch I use the eye's in the bull bar so only the bar is being pulled by the winch.

Thanks for that ......are the eyes in the bar strong enough to do a double line pull with a winch ........they look as strong as the eyes in the APT guard ....is there any danger of pulling off the bar

I see what you mean about having to be careful with the eyes of the APT guard as it appears tucked a little under the TJM bar and this is my concern that the bar can get damaged during a snatch ......guess I'd just have to be aware of this
When snatching
