Our MY14 TDV6 is back at the dealers getting a number of issues fixed. I think somewhere along the line I must have broken a number of mirrors or something. Things to be fixed/looked at are:

- Blows blue smoke on start up every morning

- Seems to always be in the wrong gear for any situation - particularly when going around a corner, it just wont accelerate. Doesn't happen in sport mode though.

- Drivers side seat base has broken

- 2 Retaining springs on the drivers side lumbar support are missing...not broken, they have not been fitted

- The middle air vent passenger side will not close, it is always open

- Same middle air vent has cold air coming out regardless of what temp is selected, even if the left hand side vent is blowing hot air

It has been at the dealers since Monday & is expected to be finished early next week..parts issue.

But the dealer in ACT has been great, they have given me a new Discovery to use in the meantime, only has 1000k on it. So that's really good of them.

I just disappointed after paying a fairly large amount of money to be having these issues. The one that is absolutely noticeable after having the loan car is that it doesn't have the hesitation or not picking the right gear that mine does.

I hope they can get all these problems solved.

Isn't the hesitation a software update thing? Search threads I'm sure I recall reading it

It would appear that some of these things slipped thru the quality control, and pre-delivery inspection.

How much smoke is it blowing? Are we talking plumes, or a puff?

Seat base shouldn't have broken.

Air vent and cold air are a whoops. Someone missed that.

Pregnant pause, ie: hesitation when cornering, is a known thing. There are a series of fixes, including adjustment of the brake light switch, and a new software version. I would suggest you have the new software, so the brake switch just needs adjustment.

Yes, you paid a lot of money for a premium brand. And it is disappointing to have issues, but they will be sorted, and you will forget about them in time.

My MY13 D4 had the same issue and it was fixed by adjusting the gap in the brake switch. The explanation I was given was that the computer thought the brake was still on and that was causing the hesitation. It took a while before I trusted the car enough to cut across oncoming traffic after that. :p
