Hi all. I'm a newbie. I currently have a 200s landcruiser. And I am currently looking at purchasing a D4 HSE and would like to know what you paid and if there is any deals to be had off list price.

Please feel free to post even if you don't have HSE. I'm sure there are others out there looking to purchase different spec levels and would be interest to see what the best deal they can get on new Discovery

So what did you pay
What spec
What dealer
And would you recommend them

Mine is only a pov pack so the price is irrelevant.
They are just starting to advertise clearing sales for 2015 dealer stock in WA.Free onroads and 12 month rego, plus $9000 in extras, the add was for dealer stock D4s in basic,SE and HSE.

Hi Totalsourse
Sorry mate you didn't give your name. Welcome to the forum
I have a 2013 D4 SDV6 HSE which I got from the dealer in Cairns.
Mine came with all the bells and whistles including road transport to Brisbane. for around $90k.Very happy with deal I also had a fellow working for me at the time. He had been trying to get a deal local for a D4. I suggested he ring Cairns which he did and also got a good deal., which included delivery to his front door. Hope this has helped
Give them a ring.
Good luck
regards Kev;)

If you know exactly what you want it may be worth giving this site a try and you get three quotes.

Hi everyone - first post, although I've been stalking for a little while, not game enough to post a "how much" thread myself... But since someone else has ;)

Currently looking at 2015 SDV6 SE, and have been quoted $85k including metallic paint, tech pack, high beam assist and rear air con.

Just wondering what the collective thoughts were on this price, or if you'd think there was still room to go lower.

For what it's worth I was quoted $81k about 4 months ago for TDV6 with tech pack and nothing else...

Paul,
Keep in mind the 'Main Event' (Run Out Sale) they have each year. I think it's around early to mid year?, so may be a little too long of a wait. For a MY14 HSE with one or two extras, after extensive searching I think the lowest price I got off dealership floor was around $91-$92k delivered. Unfortunately I wanted specifics for this price, (colour, plus several options etc.) and this wasn't available off the floor in Oz, so I had to get a build imported, which added 3-4 months wait and another $10k. Well worth the wait to get exactly what you desire though.

I paid $81,000 back in 2011 for D4 SE with the Tech Pack, $100,000 in 2013 for a HSE with Windsor Extended Leather, High Beam Assit, Electric Steering Colume and Memory's, Keyless Entry, and all the other HSE fruit. At $85K with tech pack and rear air, sound s like a winner to me ! Could always haggle on the extended LR warranty, gives great peace of mind or for on selling your D4 for your new D5....

Thanks very much for the replies guys, it's been a great help, and very good to know that this is a good price.
I was happy with the price myself, just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to pay too much - now that I know I'm not, I guess the will be a conversation happening this morning :)
Appreciate the help.
Scott.

At that price, that's what they'll tell you.

From my recent search for a new D4 you are looking at 107k +/-1k for a MY16 HSE with a couple of options (depends on the couple of options).

My local dealer had several HSE Limited Editions (from memory had black pack, 20", premium leather, extended leather, electric steering column) for $107,700 drive away for the white ones and a couple of hundred more for colours.

I managed to track one down for similar money but with a couple of different options that suited me. (white, 19", black pack, diff lock, electric steering column) There wasn't many around or coming with the options I wanted from the factory unfortunately otherwise I am sure there could have been a little more haggling. When you can only find two to choose from with different dealers you can only negotiate so far I figured.

I did have two different dealers offer to turn non factory black pack cars into black pack equivalent for no cost to try and win my business.

Rainbowdash, yes that looks like a great price. Just bought an MY16 SE in non metallic with tech pack, towbar, no rear a/c for $86k. If you work for a large corporate, they'll throw in 3 years free servicing so be sure to ask for that.

I got a MY12 HSE Luxury about this time in 2012. Just as the MY13 was coming out. It's got loads of extras on top of the HSE eg keyless entry, fridge in center console, rear DVD, Windsor leather, logic 7 sound system, adaptive lights and heaps of shiny bits on the outside (opposite of black pack) and 20" alloys. Got it for about $107k a few days before Christmas with three years free servicing. At the end of the calendar year they seem very keen to do deals and get stock off the floor.

Yes, I do qualify for the Corporate Program, was planning on keeping that until the final conversation though :)

Not sure if it was just a dealer requirement for the corporate program but the asked for a letter from my employer for proof of employment. If you have that with you saves bringing it on later.

With the program, don't forget you get free mats!

Advice, I went with carpet ones the first time, and put large deep dish mats
over the free LR carpet mats, second time went with LR rubber check ones,
bad mistake, stick with free carpet ones and put non genuine deep dish over,
works and look so much better, when you go to sell, pull out the rubber ones
and the carpet ones look a million dollars.

I also went with the genuine LR rubber load mat in the rear, it retails for about
$800-00 ! But it's been in 2x D4's and works very well and looks the goods

It's possible to spend another $30,000 + on factory options on top of the base HSE price. My 2010 D4 was $125,000, and the (fully optioned except for Black Pack) MY2016 I have on order (due late January) will be $135,000 +. I'm sure it's possible to get better pricing on "in stock" vehicles, but I prefer to order exactly what I want. Options are worth very little extra when trading in, but we are keeping the D4 (and a D3) we have, so not so important over 10 years or so. Both vehicles have been ultra reliable. No repairs at all on the D3, and the D4 has had a suspension compressor (extended warranty) and an alternator (out of warranty) only.

Hi - I bought a MY15 SDV6 SE in January this year, metallic paint and tech pack, built date Dec 2014, $89k on-road. First round of negotiations started at $92k. I suppose the first question is how old is it, ie built date. Could be getting on 12 months old or more, in which case, you should haggle a bit harder.

Thanks Mario. Just checked, and car is definitely brand new, not a demo, but it is a 2015 build. Have been told there will be a price rise for 2016 build, and not available until May.

Thanks to everyone else for their advice also - as I qualify for the corporate program I should already get the mats, and honestly above metallic pain and tech pack, there wasn't much else I was going to add on. I did think about pushing for the cargo liner though - is there anything else that I could realistically push for and get included in $85K drive away?

RainbowDash, keep in mind that with the new (D5, or whatever they'll call it) version on the horizon.

If you're not in a hurry and you're not that interested in the new model, you might be able to get much better deal on a D4 if you wait 6 months.

I got my 2014 HSE for 105K on road.

Thanks Steve. I haven't been able to find an actual date (or Month) of when the new model is supposed to be out here, so didn't know if I'd be waiting 6 months, 9 months or 12 months to get a great deal on the current shape D4...

Plus it's the sort of thing you just want right now!!! :)

Haven't done the deal as yet, as I am using current car as trade-in, and so trying to negotiate on final change over price... would be nice to have in the driveway for Christmas morning :)

Recently went through the same thing. You're right, there's nothing concrete about when the next model is coming. I've done a lot of searching. It could even be 12 months or more.

I got a fantastic trade on my Prado, so just bit the bullet. If I've paid a couple grand more than I would when the new model comes out, so be it. The D4 is a beauty.

Completely agree. I like the fact that this is the last boxy-looking Land Rover. Feels special. Now if I can somehow make enough $$ to get the other iconic and awesome car - a 911 - my garage will be complete.

I went and visited a dealer the other day, and was told that the new model wouldn't be out until at least 2017... but he's a car salesman, so I took that with a grain of salt. He did however mention that the Graphite and Landmark versions aren't actually out yet, and not expected until first quarter next year, and that was his indication that they wouldn't be dropping the new model in 2016.

Anyway - got a bit of a run around with original dealer, who quoted $84990 with Tech Pack, Rear Aircon and metallic pain, they then advised it wasn't due to arrive until next month.

Turns out though that they did however have another one in stock which had the same spec (and colour?!), with the addition of privacy glass. Have got them to agree to $85,700.

So I've bitten the bullet and signed it off... waiting on a pick up date but should be before Christmas :)

Will post pic in the pic posting thread once it's all done.

Thanks for the help everyone, was invaluable knowing what others were getting, helped in talking with dealers.

Exactly - well said

Hope you kept a bit of change in your pocket for the obligatory dual battery system (search drivesafe Traxide)

I've had mine a bit over 2 months now and absolutely love it - don't even think about the fact that I spent $30k more than the budget I 1st set [emoji50]
