Hi all

just a general question as per title.

Which is more flexible?

Thanks

IMO, paint for sure. Powder will crack.

Agree with that - paint is much more flexible, powder coat will crack. OEM's and spring manufacturers all paint their springs.

Also agree with paint. Its easy to rub back and recoat if needed. A big problem with powder is as Johntins says, it will crack, but the crack will not be immediately obvious and will let in moisture. Over time rust will undermine the powder coating via the crack(s) but not before doing some damage which will likely remain invisible until the section(s) finally flakes off, finally looking terrible and leaving the remnants of coating which is difficult to remove (sandblasters hate powder). Powder is great for uses on surfaces that dont need to flex, and are largely out of heavy stone chip areas.

paint, a latex bathroom paint thats supposed to be good for painting over sealastic is your best bet.

there are some other very flixible paints out there...

Dupli-Color Aerosol Paint - Flexible Bumper Coating, Black, 311g - Supercheap Auto Australia (http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Dupli-Color-Aerosol-Paint-Flexible-Bumper-Coating-Black-311g.aspx?pid=324095#Recommendations)

and if you prep it right

https://www.plastidip.net.au/plasti-dip

tub lining spray also works well but if you dont get it to bond properly you'll get water entrapment issues.

get it right and the plastidip and the tub liner spray will outlast the springs.
