Folks,

have been getting my D3 looked after by------- but have found them to be very much "dont give a pooh" after getting the new engine fitted. I have previously had my servicing done by th and was annoyed that after getting the tiing belts replaced it was this area that failed and cost me an engine. Their attitude was "too bad".

I had a few issues with the engine reeplacement job in relation to creaks and groans in the body they were not there beforehand, they tried to tell me it was the suspension and lubed a couple of bushes which did nothing.

Have also been trying to get quotes to get some suspension work as well and only getting a partial quote back. Getting sick of calling and emailing them so looking to take my business elsewhere.

One of the engineers at work uses "Knghts House of Rover" at Bowen Hills and said they were good.

Has anyone used them, or heard reports of their work and prices? Would be much easier to go to them as it is a 10 min walk from work as opposed to going all the way to Redcliffe.

thanks in advance
cheers
P

Peter,

I've used Austral's, MR Auto, and Knights.

MR Auto is a long way for me, so really inconvenient to get any work done there. Despite this, I have used them a few times because of their good reputation. On the occasions that I did get work done there, I wasn't overly impressed - not bad, but not great either. I won't go into details publicly.

Knights is much closer to me - almost walking distance (I did ride my bicycle there once :) ). I did some searching on this forum before using them and found some mixed reviews. I have used them for most of my work recently and had good experiences. It's a small shop, and the main guy can seem a bit grumpy but I've always approached him with a smile and he normally warms up a bit. They've been able to fit in little jobs at short notice, and I recently had a rear diff replaced for a good price.

So I wouldn't be afraid to give them a go. Just don't expect that every shop will be perfect 100% of the time ;)

Over the years I've had a bit to do with Bob at Knights. I've always found him to be helpful. He can be a bit gruff on occasions. Just ignore that. Dave is also helpful. I would have ended up there if I hadn't established confidence with another repairer at Cleveland.

I recently had Austral do a recall job. The experience was good. However the hourly rate will be higher.

Rovercare at Slacks Creek on south side is another choice. Knows his stuff.

Sent from my SM-G900I using AULRO mobile app

We used LR at Gold Coast when our DR needed a bit of TLC, busted turbo hose, locked tailgate and failed parking brake.
Could not fault the service!
