So I am 150,000km plus on the odo of my 2011 D4 HSE...on my daily highway commute (50 plus km each way) I had started to get an intermittent surge....very minor...up and down by 2km/h....annoying more than anything else. Only noticeable / happened when cruise control was set. Off to my service agent and as with some intermittent issues nothing was showing on the D4's readout.....back and forth over a few days and much discussion with the Tech's and my good service agent working through the LR bulletins checking for a problem with similar symptoms....minor surge at light throttle settings...

The service agent did not give up and found a LR bulletin re the type of problem I was having and gave me a call...long story short the throttle body was replaced.....(extended warranty) two days in since and no further problems....touch wood!

P.S. the D4 is still a great / effortless country drive vehicle........and as yet I have not had to replace the brake pads or rotors....nor the air springs or shocks!:)

Good result. Did they tell you the bulletin number?

I had this same sort of surging in my s/h 3yo 4.4 TDV8 RRV with less than 20K kms on the way home from picking it up. It was very annoying, cycling between a little push in my back when accelerating then a slight falling forwards sensation as it slowed whilst using CC at 100 kph on smooth highways. The vehicle didn't get back to the dealers as my warranty was only 5K kms but the fault now doesn't happen. Considering your throttle body having been blamed, I wonder if mine had a build-up of tarnish around the butterfly or the stepper motor was a bit sticky that's now fixed with more usage (10K in 3 months).

My service history regularly refers to cleaning the throttle body.
