Can anyone advise me as to the size of the tubing (delivery pipe) is used on a 1955 Series 1 from under the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder.
My vehicle currently is fitted with 3/16" O/D tubing which has a small but irritating leak, no matter how tight I screw up the fittings it still leaks??, should this tubing be 1/4"OD tubing the same as S2/2A etc, cheers Dennis

While waiting for a response of which I'm reasonably confident that 1/4" will the size of the tubing, I rounded up 2 fittings male n female in 7/16"UNF that accept 1/4" bundy tubing, I have made a double flare on one end, both fittings have had tap n die across them

this is the dilemma, 1/4"OD tube on the left 3/16"OD tube and the size of the outlet on the reservoir, a double flare on the 3/16" tubing would ? maybe only just cover the outlet on the fitting on the reservoir

so in the meantime I have mowed the lawn again lol cheers n twiddling thumbs Dennis

Dennis,

Looks like you've sorted it but that pipe on my '56 is 1/4", rest of the vehicle is 3/16"

Yes I took it all to pieces, by geez I need new glasses as the pipe in question was indeed 1/4" O/D (duh) I will snap an image of both ends of this pipe, how this ever worked or held fluid when this vehicle was registered is beyond me, I have made a new pipe and there was no leak after 10 minutes, but then a storm developed dropped the outside temp by more than 15 degrees in a few minutes rain wind hail lightening noise++++ anyway nothing like a boom crash opera, cheers Dennis
ps here are 3 images of both ends of the tubing, the first image shows the dent in the ? double flare

and note the end is not square to the tube on both ends
