There is a website selling 12000lb electric winches out of Melbourne.
http://www.thiswotidonow.com/
Apparently they will be on special in 6 weeks time for $799.
Anyone know if they are any good?

The quality of that website is pretty poor (its ugly too)
As for the winch - it sounds good.
Too good to be true perhaps :?:
I'd also be interested if anyone else knows something of these units.

Confucious says:
"anyone that sells winches and glowsticks in the same place probably runs a $2 store".
I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole (and they don't sell those)

Most of the Chinese winches come from one or two companies. I noticed some time ago that they were about $500 in the USA.
What happens is that the first importer tries to make a motsa. Look at the air compressors. Started at $300+ now 100. Generators started $250 now 99.
The same will happen with the Chinese winches and they are probably EXACTLY the same as the ones they were asking $1400 for.
Lucky for consumers that the Chinese have no idea of how to have a long term distributor agreement and there is always an importer who will undercut.
You know in UK those Viair big air compressors cost GBP 250 or something!!! I paid $170 on ebay and a friend told me he paid 130..
Globalization is stopping this bullsh1t to some extent, but Cooper have managed to overcharge until now.
