Hey Andy lucky bay is one of my favourite places to go.
Wago beach is only a few more kilometres up the road or on the beach from lucky bay. Fishing can be sparodic along the coast is this area. Wago is better as you have more reef and rocks to fish from, with sand spaces so you don't get snagged.
Lucky bay can get very busy over Xmas and just after with many campers however between lucky bay and the shacks there is a large plain with some small trees and shrubs to hide from.
Hide from the wind as it can be really bad, I mean really bad. As you can't even fish.
I have been going there for the last few years but probably not going this year as I am sick of the wind.
Last year was windy but we had a few good days and I caught many big tailor, but it was an isolated spot, if you were 10 meters off of the reef you got nothin.
As I said I love the place but the wind is off putting. Lucky bay itself can be great for swimming and fishing off the rocks directly into deep water but also can be very dangerous on the rocks with a large swell.
If you take your boat and you get a good day beach launching at lucky bay is very easy and the fishing for mackerel is great as is the Jewish and baldchin grouper and others.
If it gets really windy then you go sight seeing in Kalbarri for the day.
If you get a nice warm night then beach fishing for multiway is like being in paradise.....

I booked 3 nites in at Horrocks Beach caravan park.
We are using my campertrailer for accomodation. It will be its maiden voyage:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool: Solar/water/draws/kitchen wont be done, staying in a powered site so they wont be needed. The only jobs I need to do are re-fit the batteries and bolt the toolbox down.
Aaron40 in his new D4 and myself will be taking Tailslide, just to show him he should have odered a D4 instead of a Deafender;);););)
Looking forward to it.
Andrew
